How cool is this, filming underwater at this lake is in the top 5 filming sites we have visited over 35 years. If you have not visited North Yorkshire Water Park Fisheries and cast a line then do. The setting is stunning, run by amazing people and the fishing is wonderful, underwater is next level though 😜

It will not be long until we are out filming pike, September is a superb month for getting these amazing fish on film.
Over the years we have been very lucky it gaining some amazing footage of these wonderful fish with the amazing help from the team at North Yorkshire Water Park Fisheries
Pike truly are a amazing species of fish, looking forward to getting back in the water with them.

Flow Of Life
Our new mini documentary will be shown on Sunday 28th September ( timings and venue to follow)
Will cover the importance of our freshwater aquatic species as well as covering pollution, something that we have been documenting for 35 years, so nothing new to us actually.
The aim is to engage a range of audiences with river and water issues, using the power of film and other art forms to spark watery engagements, discussions, and actions.

This scene resulted in a combination of small pellets and h**p laid down with a few boilies before filming commences. From then on small offerings of h**p was introduced regularly to keep the shoal feeding. The results turned out to be fascinating on film with barbel feeding heavily and chub coming in to pick up slightly bigger offerings.

Freshwater fish.
We have been filming in rivers and lakes for 35 years. To date we still do not think enough information is out there about this unique world that is literally on our doorstep. We want to change that alongside our fight with pollution. Our new film titled "The Flow Of Life" heads straight into the pollution issues of our waterways but also has a indepth look into our freshwater species. We think it shows some of our best work.
The first screening will be in Cambridge in September with more details to follow.

Gudgeon, with this years documentary complete and film short, one of next years film shorts will focus on the lives of gudgeon, it is a fish i don't see a huge amount of but also a fish that was my first ever capture as a 6 years old. Think everyone has a soft spot for the gudgeon. The film short will focus on the gudgeon's life but also some of the species this remarkable fish brings in, like these chublets.

Filming barbel is always a treat. When you are filming these fish it can be very interesting to watch their behaviour when certain baits are introduced to the section you are filming. Back out filming barbel soon which will take me to mid September then we move on to a new species.

You can catch up with me again on on the 17th August 2025 with a rerun of a wonderful piece I did with the program showcasing the river Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales and some of the wonderful life that I film underwater in this river and what it means to me being in this environment.
Was a huge treat to have my work shown on this wonderful program.

The grayling. A beautiful freshwater fish that is susceptible to pollution. What makes grayling unique, though, is that they are not afraid of human interaction. Making them superb subjects to film.
