Daisybeck Studios is the fastest growing independent production company specialising in Factual and Factual Entertainment programming in Yorkshire.
Formed in 2013 the Company has grown from a standing start to currently producing more than 150 hours of network television.
On July 10th 2019 Daisybeck Studios was acquired by Entertainment One a global independent studio that specialises in the development, acquisition, production, financing, distribution and sales of entertainment content. The Company's diversified expertise spans across film, television and music production and sales; family programming, merchandising and licensing; digital content; and live entertainment. Through its global reach and expansive scale, powered by deep local market knowledge, the Company delivers the best content to the world.
The Daisybeck brand was born in 1998 with a joint venture partnership between Stuart Jospehs, owner of then Leeds based facilities house Elite Television and TV producer Paul Stead. Daisybeck Productions and Daisybeck Television ran very successfully for 15 years and picked up an Emmy nomination and RTS Awards along the way. Productions ranged from single documentaries for the BBC and ITV to high volume returnable series for digital channels including A&E Networks UK and ITV Digital Channels.
One of Daisybeck Productions most successful series’ was the critically acclaimed “Too Fat for 15” following the progress of morbidly obese teenagers at a weight loss academy in North Carolina, USA. This programme was commissioned by NBC Universal in the United States and was nominated for a prestigious Emmy Award in 2011.
Access led documentaries were the cornerstone of the original Daisybeck brands and remain so today.
Over the years we have been able to win the trust and confidence of people, places and institutions to allow us into their world in order to sensitively tell their stories.
Elite Television Facilities closed in 2012 and Stuart Josephs retired in 2013, when Paul Stead acquired the rights to the brand and relaunched with the new Company DAISYBECK STUDIOS.
Now based on the creative corridor in Leeds, alongside ITV’s Emmerdale, Kay Mellor’s Rollem Productions and the state of the art facilities of The Other Planet and Prime Studios, Daisybeck has two offices on Kirkstall Road.
