✨️🚉 Tomorrow marks 1 year since I moved from Greater Manchester to Leeds!

I know, I know, I don't live there anymore - I averaged 10 months in each of those places on my slow journey further north! ⬆️

In the interest of full transparency, I do have regrets - I regret not having explored and experienced Leeds fully while I was there, choosing to focus instead on saving and learning. I only really ventured out when family visited, and I needed to schedule our days 😔 My list of things I didn't do far surpassed the list of things I did.

Despite the almost bittersweet end to my time there - everyone, myself included, expecting I'd live there for 3-5 years before making the Scotland move - the time I spent there was maybe the most impactful year of my life! It's the year that I rebuilt connection with my family, adopted my first pet (Astrid!), started taking my finances seriously, and launched my business 🚀🩷

No matter what , I'm very grateful for that 10 months of my life 🙏

Moose is making us all very proud this week 💙

I initially adopted him largely as a companion for Astrid - she's never handled long stretches without me present very well, and I knew that my new job would be full-time in-office with a ~1hour commute either way. It meant a lot to me, though, that he also settled into the house and our routines and adored Astrid enough that my working hours weren't stressful for him, too. 🙏

Well, little Moose is still eating and littering normally, and the two of them don't appear to be getting into any fights and are still happy to play or cuddle together every night and every morning. Astrid has vastly improved in her anxious behaviours and, while they do demand cuddles and shadow me when I get home, having a sibling seems to have made both of them enjoy independent time a bit more too. ✨️

Could not have asked for a better 2nd kitty to bring into the family 🐈

A little wander through time at Kelvingrove ✨

I dont spend as much time as I wish I did visiting galleries, museums, and historic sites (I'm trying to do better this year!).

Stepping into places filled with history, beauty, and creativity - it’s a lovely reminder that there’s always something new to learn, always a little magic to be found in the everyday 😊

🌲🚶‍♀️🥾 I'm a little while away yet from being able to book time off so that I can wander and unwind in nature - it'd be a little too cheeky to do it any time soon with me only starting the new job this coming Monday! - but I'm starting research early on some local routes of varying lengths, that aren't too difficult or expensive for non-drivers like me to get to!

In the meantime, here's a snap 📸 from Wollaton Hall and Deer Park in Nottingham, somewhere that looks absolutely stunning in all seasons 🏞🦌
