Denbigh Asylum Wales

Been wanting to visit here for years and after spending Christmas in Snowdonia it would have been rude not to call in while I was over that way

It was a very goofy day which added to the atmosphere of the place, it’s been heavily vandalised and parts of the site have now been demolished but still a great explore with the natural decay showing through

Plenty of heavy machinery on site so if you plan on visit I wouldn’t leave it too long

Thanks to Living In The Past 13 for giving me a heads up on the best place to park and enter the site.

Cloth traders house

Built in 1662 this house once belonged to a cloth trader from London but has now been left to rot by its current owners who are a property developer.

There is some evidence that this grade 2 listed building has had work done in the past but will probably be left until a miraculous arson attack makes the property unsafe and eligible to be demolished like so many other listed buildings owned by property developers or investment companies.

If only popped her to fly my drone so wasn’t expecting to actually look around inside but was good to see the decay that has occurred during the building been empty.

Derelict mortuary chapels

I was having a play around with a drone i recently bought today and remembered about these derelict chapels i was once going to try access, i had deciding against trying to access them at the time as they didn't look very safe and not worth the risk.

the two mortuary chapels (each listed grade II) are sited symmetrically to either side of the main entrance drive, with the worst of the two being the Anglican chapel to the south and the Nonconformist chapel to the north which is in a slightly better condition

The roof of the south chapel collapsed during a storm in 2014 and has been left with scaffolding around ever since, the local council have said that the upkeep of the buildings isn't a priority but a former planning officer is looking to secure funding to bring them back to their former glory

Former social club

Planning was put in to convert this old club into 8 house, this application was later turned down, resulting in this place spontaneously combusting and leaving a lot of the snooker room minus one of the tables to be heavily fire damaged.

The other rooms on this explore including bar area, function room and the upstairs living area are all vandalised but this doesn’t take away from a great explore with plenty to find and see

Was well worth the visit and great to meet both Marko explores and UrbexLew for the explore.

Former Midland bank

I stumbled on this place while visiting a few places locally this afternoon, my eye was drawn to the building when I seen a couple of young lads trying to gain access but ran away when they seen me look over (Sorry lads but thanks for the heads up)

Most of the building has been stripped with evidence of vandalism throughout, some of the original features including railings and windows remain with the main feature of this explore being the banks 3 floor vault which looks like it was built at the same time as the building itself

Overall a good end to a successful days exploring
