Rob Nixon Named Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire After Retiring as Chief Constable!

Just a week after retiring as Chief Constable of Leicestershire and Rutland, Rob Nixon has been appointed as a Deputy Lord-Lieutenant for Leicestershire.

In this prestigious role, Nixon will continue his dedication to public service, focusing on community engagement and civic pride across the county.

Sharing his thoughts on social media, Nixon said, “I feel deeply privileged to be able to serve the people and communities of Leicester and Leicestershire in this capacity. The role of Deputy Lieutenant is one deeply grounded in community engagement, civic pride, and public service – values all of which I hold dearly.”

Reflecting on his time as Chief Constable, Nixon also acknowledged the important work of the lieutenancy, stating, “I have always felt hugely supported by the lieutenancy and seen first-hand the incredible contributions they make whilst I served in my former role as Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police.”

As Deputy Lord-Lieutenant, Nixon will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in representing the Crown in Leicestershire, supporting local initiatives, and celebrating the achievements of individuals and organisations in the community. His extensive experience in public service and his passion for supporting local people make him an excellent choice for the role.

Nixon’s appointment highlights his unwavering commitment to the people of Leicestershire and Rutland, and his new role will undoubtedly allow him to continue making a positive and lasting impact across the region.
