Canada Post Honours Sikh Soldiers with Remembrance Day 2025 Stamp

Canada Post has released a special Remembrance Day 2025 stamp paying tribute to the Sikh soldiers who served with distinction during the World Wars.

Although discriminatory laws in the early 20th century limited Sikh enlistment in Canada — with only 10 officially recorded Sikh soldiers in World War I and an unspecified number in World War II — hundreds of thousands of Sikhs bravely fought for the Allied forces across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

The Sikh martial tradition, rooted in the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, continues to be recognized as one of the most honourable and respected in world history.

Commemorative events and tributes marking Sikh contributions to global military service took place across the world this Remembrance Day, reaffirming the community’s enduring legacy of courage, equality, and sacrifice.
