2024 roundup. I’ve been writing in the uni library, on park benches, anywhere I can find a bit of quiet. And it’s gone ok…
In February I had a story accepted for the ‘Flash Flood’ on National Flash Fiction Day. It was a 50 word story ‘The Blue Anorak’. It’s been nominated for ‘Best Microfictions’. It’s exciting news for quite an unpleasant story. DuFrank Lit launched in June with an unsavoury story of mine in it: 'Sugar Daddy'. Already we can see the theme developing can’t we? The ‘Dead Girls Walking’ anthology was published in June with my ‘Haunting of Gary Taylor’ in it. The ‘Cost of Our Baggage' anthology from Gnashing Teeth Publishing came out in September and I wrote ‘What the Dickens?’ for it.
I wrote a fifty word story about a shoe (‘All That Remains’) whilst sitting in the park (pictured) this is in the latest Blink Ink Magazine (UFO) In May I read some of my stories at their Dance Party, launching the revival of their online performance space.
I’ve also written and recorded numerous stories for Hannah’s seasonal shows on N Manchester Radio and Laurence’s weekly ‘Hundred Word Story Podcast’. In March I read a Story at the Student Showcase at Literary Leicester. It was a fab event with a great selection of work performed.
And finally (drum roll please) I’ve published a story every week over at Substack. It’s free to sign up & read – if you add your email to the list it should send you a story every Saturday morning.
Thanks, love & appreciation to all that read & comment and share. And to all a Happy New Year xx
