I’m taking a short break from the office this week to recharge my batteries before the end of year rush!

If you're interested in working with me, I’ve got limited space left for retainer clients, audits, and power hours until the end of the year!

So if you’ve been thinking of getting in touch, DM me and get the ball rolling before I’m fully booked!

(You can email me too but I won’t be checking my inbox until I’m back at my desk next week)

So here’s the thing…I only started auditing my own social media accounts this year šŸ™ˆ

Previously, I relied on my brain and my gut to just know what was performing well.

But that didn’t really encourage me to do anything with those gut feelings.

Oh, and then perimenopause kicked in. And the mind blanks are real!

So, I’ve started to track things much more clearly in a simple excel spreadsheet.

This works perfectly for me as I also use the same spreadsheet to plan out my content for the month - also something I’d never done before this year.

I had always put my client work first. Obviously that’s what pays the bills. But then I realised, if I wasn’t being consistent with my own social media, how could I preach the importance of planning and audits to my clients?

Everything now feels much more aligned. And I can see what’s performing and what isn’t. Somehow it also saves me time! And no more procrastinating in bed over what to post the following day!

Obviously, the social media audits I run for my clients are more in-depth. They get a swanky document with stats and summaries - that way they can consume the details in a way that works best for them, as well as recommendations on how to boost their performance.

I’d love to know if you track your analytics, and if you don’t, what holds you back from giving it a go? Let me know ā¬‡ļø

āš ļøTrigger Warning - caption contains discussion about su***de āš ļø

Su***de.

It’s a topic many people avoid talking about.

It’s a word, when said out loud, that many people don’t know what to do with.

For me, it’s a word I’ve had to get used to saying over the last 13 years (although the reality is, it’s been much longer if you include the downward spiral).

We need to get better about talking about su***de.

Not just to help prevent people from ending their life.

But to help those left behind.

Admittedly, it can be tricky to know when someone’s ok to talk about it. But it can be helpful sometimes, just to ask someone if it’s something they are ok talking about. Everyday is different for those of us who’ve been left behind.

There’s a lot of talk about how we get better at preventing su***de. I certainly don’t have the answers, but my biggest piece of advice - next time you ask someone ā€˜how are you?’ And they say, ā€˜I’m ok’. Ask them ā€˜How are you REALLY?’.

It’s su***de prevention month. But let’s make sure we don’t just talk about su***de in September.

Miss you Bry 🩷

August was a little quiet on the work front, but that meant plenty of beach days šŸ˜Ž

I’m so grateful to live so close to the sea 🌊 There’s something about the ocean that just makes life feel better.

Project 365 continues, and these are some of my favourite photos from August.

Which photo is your favourite?

I managed to avoid this for as long as possible šŸ™ˆ

One of the reasons I wanted to run my recent IG Live series was to get better at not waffling - I’ll let you judge for yourselves whether that has been successful or not šŸ˜‚

But, it felt much easier to be the hostess of my lives, rather than being the main focus.

With a degree of peer pressure, and a whole lot of telling myself to just bloody do the thing, I’m extending my IG Live series for 1 more episode.

Featuring me, myself and I.

I’ll be staying with the theme of finding better harmony between being online and our wellbeing, but I would love YOU, my brilliant Instagram community to join me live in the comments, to ask any questions you might have on this topic, so I can answer them in real time.

What do you think?

If you don’t have the time to do a full social media audit, you can still make meaningful improvements with more manageable options.

Including:

šŸ“±Mini-audits: Pick one platform and just review the essentials. This could be your profile bio, branding, and top-performing posts. Even a 20–30 minute review can uncover quick wins.

šŸ“±Monthly metrics check: Instead of a full audit, track 3–5 key numbers (e.g., follower growth, engagement rate, clicks) once a month. This keeps you on top of trends without the deep dive.

šŸ“±Outsourcing: Hire a social media manager šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø to run the audit for you. They’ll handle the analysis and give you a clear action plan so you can focus on other parts of the business.

šŸ“±Platform-provided insights: Use built-in analytics (Instagram Insights, page Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, etc.) to spot obvious patterns. This could be, which posts get the most engagement or what time your audience is most active.

šŸ“±Audit ā€œcheckpointsā€ during content planning: When planning content for the month, take 10 minutes to glance at what worked best in the past month and adapt your strategy accordingly.

šŸ“±Peer or community review: Ask a trusted peer, mentor, or small business community to look at your social profiles with fresh eyes. They will sometimes spot things you’ve overlooked.

Which one will you choose (and no pressure to choose me šŸ˜‚)?

And just like that…

Summers nearly over, and so is my first-ever Instagram Live series!

But not before we hear from the legend that is Penni from šŸ™Œ

Random story - Penni actually lives in my home county of Northamptonshire. But we had never met until we both found ourselves at Atomicon (a marketing conference run by ), all the way up in Newcastle last year!

Penni is the founder of and is also a WordPress web developer.

With her hat on, we’ll be chatting about online vs in-person communities, how they support us, where they differ, and how we can balance both in a way that best supports our wellbeing.

I can’t wait for this chat! I hope you can join us live ā˜ŗļø

If you’re a small business, skipping regular social media audits can make space for a few sneaky problems to creep in over time.

No time or inclination to delve into the data (this is where the answers to most of these pesky problems are hiding)?

August is flying by…

I can’t believe it’s my penultimate IG live on Thursday in my summer series about finding a better harmony between being online and our wellbeing.

Join me this coming Thursday as I chat to about mental health and setting boundaries.

Kate is a content writer and consultant, and is also the Head Clubber of The Content Club!

A lot of the chats I’ve had over the summer all come back to the same thing…setting boundaries. I’m looking forward to chatting to Kate to see how we can set better boundaries when it comes to all things social media.

Come along to the live and ask any questions you have on this topic in real time.

See you there?

There’s just something about these beasts that stirs something in my soul!

I had such a great time at last year, I had to come back for round 2 this year.

It’s on all weekend, so if you haven’t been yet, get your butt down to Eastbourne before it wraps up on Sunday!

The red arrows were obviously a highlight, but they will get their own post 😁
