One for my Sussex followers! Last week on the way to work I treated myself to a milkshake at our fave local stop Cool Cow Company and spotted that More House Farm are having a Halloween event throughout October, loads of fun activities planned and entry tickets are FREE!
I’ve popped a link in my bio if anyone is interested, plus it’s also in my recent story highlight.
More info is on their insta page, but they have highland cows, pumpkin patch and so much more!

AD | What a location - Tewkesbury Abbey Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite

We spent 4 nights here as part of our Easter tour and if you love being able to pitch up and explore straight from the campsite like us, this is such a good one!

⛪ Tewkesbury Abbey is literally a stone’s throw from the entrance
🏘️ You can wander straight into the town
🐾 There are loads of lovely walks to explore with the dog
🍴 Plenty of pubs and places to eat within walking distance
🚌 And great bus connections if you’re touring in a motorhome and want to leave it pitched up!

The site itself is super flat, with new pitches recently added, and the facilities were also spotlessly clean and really well maintained

But for us, the location is what really makes this site! 🤩
We explored Tewkesbury Abbey, wandered along the river and walked the historic Battle of Tewkesbury sites, an absolute treat for this Tudor and Wars of the Roses obsessed girl
🙋🏼‍♀️😂
We also used the site as a base to explore further afield, including a trip up to the Black Country Living Museum and visiting places connected to our own family history.
It’s one of those sites where there is so much waiting for you right outside the gates, and we’d 100% return

Calais ferry port… honestly, what a complete shambles

We allowed over 3.5 hours to get through the port, despite the current recommendation being around 2 hours, and we STILL missed our ferry. And we definitely weren’t the only ones, there were loads of other people who missed theirs too.

It was ridiculously slow and chaotic from start to finish. According to UK Border Force, the French authorities were repeatedly stopping the queues and not allowing people through… although we then sat in a completely non-moving queue for around 20 minutes at the UK border ourselves

After allowing what we thought was more than enough time, it was incredibly frustrating to then miss our sailing because of the delays.
😭
We’ve been told we should be put on the next crossing… but who knows at this point!

Definitely not the smoothest way to finish our trip, and definitely confirmed our preference to travel Newhaven Dieppe!

To just check in it took 20 mins, and the staff couldn’t physically send anymore cars through due to the gridlock into French customs.

Only 4 lanes open, for 3 ferry companies sailing ships every few hours!

Stuck stationary in a queue for UK customs for 20 mins.

What a fabulous trip it’s been… so many good times, a handful of moments that made us question caravanning life, but lots and lots of laughs, and there’s plenty of memories made that we will be talking about for a while!

Last night was 100% one of those nights!

Not many photos from today because, well… we’ve been a few (LOTS 😂) of times before, so I think we’ve pretty much photographed Disney from every angle by now!

Today was just about enjoying it. No rushing around trying to fit everything in, just taking our time, enjoying the rides, soaking up the atmosphere and making memories together.
❤️
And we’ve had such a phenomenal day! It honestly doesn’t matter how many times we visit, there’s still something so special about being here.
☺️
And with my birthday tomorrow, I couldn’t think of a better way to start the celebrations with my boys. 🥰🏰✨
Now some rest for our tired feet and a good night’s sleep before we do it all again tomorrow!
