🚨 Heads up, fellow campers! 🚨
Aldi’s Camping Specialbuys are arriving this Thursday, 18th June, and there are some cracking bits coming in.
👀🏕️
If you’re getting ready for summer adventures, caravan trips or just love a bargain (who doesn’t?! 🙈), it’s definitely worth a browse.
And my ultimate favourite is making a return… the £4.99 pegs!
I know I’m not alone in that either, they seem to be a firm favourite with so many of us in the caravanning and camping world!

One thing I never get tired of when we’re away is sunsets over the caravan. This one was back at Easter at Tewkesbury and was just stunning

Reminded by Facebook today that I’ve been doing the day job for 17years, not quite sure where that time went!

Apparently, according to AI, I’m a professional problem solver, occasional content creator, full-time water drinker and the proud owner of an impossibly tidy desk. Which is only partly true! The desk is not tidy and I only drink coffee!

I’m incredibly lucky to genuinely love my job and work with some brilliant people. They know who they are! They are probably having a good laugh at the polished, perfectly organised version of me in this picture though… because the reality involves rather more than emails and meetings, and I don’t own a suit!
😁🤣
Still, 17 years later, a couple of kids, countless cups of coffee consumed, and somehow managing to fit plenty of caravanning and chasing sunsets around it all, I’d say I’m doing alright.

📍Site Review Sunday | Les Ormes Domaine & Resort, France 🇫🇷

As luck would have it, Day 8 of The Teddy Swift Challenge, created by , has fallen on Site Review Sunday and today’s prompt is all about a favourite campsite you’ve visited ❤️

This week we’re heading to Brittany and one of the boys’ favourites from our 2025 France trip - Les Ormes Domaine & Resort. Les Ormes, Domaine & Resort

We spent 5 nights here and when I asked the boys which site was their favourite, there wasn’t even a debate… Les Ormes won hands down! 🏆

❤️ What we loved

• The incredible pool complex 🏊
• Great value pizza restaurant 🍕
• Ice creams and crêpes 🍦
• Lovely new bar and morning coffee ☕
• Endless activities for the boys

⭐ Best for
Families with children who love swimming and action-packed holidays.

ℹ️ Things to Note
• It’s a large resort with lots of static caravans
• It doesn’t have that traditional French campsite feel we love
• Activities can quickly add up
• Some facilities are looking a little tired
• We spent most of a day without power after tripping the electrics and had a long wait for assistance

⭐ Our Ratings

📍Location: 9/10
🚿 Facilities: 10/10
👨‍👩‍👦 Family Friendly: 10/10
💷 Value for Money: 7/10
⭐ Overall Score: 8/10

❓Would we return?
Yes! Although there are other French campsites we’d probably revisit first, it’s hard to fault the facilities and it’s easy to see why so many families return year after year.

💭 Final Thoughts
If amazing pools and keeping the kids entertained are top priorities, Les Ormes delivers in abundance.

Inspired by The Touring Boys I thought it was about time we reintroduced ourselves!

Hi, I’m Rachel, the face behind Rachel Witek 👋 and the one usually behind the camera sharing our adventures.
My husband, Lex, is our self-proclaimed chauffeur and does all the towing.
🚗🚐.
Our boys, Benji and Toby, have literally grown up on the campsite and loving caravanning.
And of course, there’s Hugo 🐾, our much-loved sausage dog, who joins us on our UK adventures.

What started as family weekends away has grown into a lifestyle we love, with adventures across the UK and unforgettable summers in France. Along the way, we’ve met some wonderful people and become part of this amazing caravanning community ❤️

I never imagined when we started this account that it would bring so many friendships and opportunities, but I’m so grateful to everyone who follows along and shares in our adventures.

No prizes for guessing who features today! Hugo absolutely loves joining us on our adventures and would never forgive us if we left him behind. Although confession time, we accidently left him at our familys house when visiting recently ... they relised in seconds and we were only at the end of the road... ooops!

(AD) We’ve been testing out a little gadget for the last couple of trips that monitors the gas levels in your bottles and it’s been a really handy addition to touring life, this is the Senso4 Plus.
🚐✨
Once set up, it connects via Bluetooth to an app, giving real-time data on your gas levels, which is reassuring when you’re away.

A few things we’ve liked:
• Super easy to set up in the app and onto the bottle

• Levels do seem to be accurately reported
We ran out of gas and had an empty bottle on board, so as part of our set up we had a little experiment with it.

• Simple to reset when you swap/replace a bottle

It’s priced at £89 (so about the same as a full gas bottle), so I can definitely see the value if you only want to run with one bottle, gives back around 8kg of payload, plus it could save you the nightmare of running out mid cooking dinner. yep been there done that!

It in real time helps you plan refills ahead of time, as the app over time estimates how many days you have left.

For us, travelling with two bottles, it’s still been useful but more of a “nice to have” than essential, mainly for that extra insight and reassurance.

It 100% gives you a far better idea of gas levels than our usual hot water and hand method. (Which works extremely well and has been our usual method so far) I’m impressed and would recoommend as a useful gadget.

Breakfast always tastes better when you’re away in the caravan and there’s nowhere you need to rush off to, don’t you agree?!
