NEWS FLASH💥: Troops Of 12 Brigade Under Operation Accord III Deliver Major Blow To Bandits In Kogi State… Neutralise Notorious Second-in-Command
Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, under Operation ACCORD III, in collaboration with Other Hybrid Forces (OHF), have achieved another decisive breakthrough in the ongoing fight against banditry and criminal activities in Kogi State.
On 11 September 2025, acting on credible intelligence about bandit movements around Ofere Forest and Ayetoro Gbede, the combined troops mounted an ambush. While the initial contact was not made, the troops later encountered an ambush staged by the bandits while returning to base.
A fierce firefight ensued, during which the gallant troops overpowered the criminals with superior firepower, neutralising one bandit. Items recovered included:
1 fully loaded magazine
31 mobile phones
A blood pressure machine
Packs of Tramadol tablets
Fe**sh charms
₦16,000 cash
Bloodstains at the scene indicated that several others escaped with gunshot wounds.
