The next episode of Sausage On A Fork is a very special one, as we’re joined once again by Mark Baxter aka Duane Orpington.

When Mark first appeared on the podcast, he bravely shared his story of being diagnosed with and recovering from bowel cancer.

Sadly, Mark has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer. In this very honest and moving episode, Mark talks about his diagnosis, his journey so far and the challenges he is facing.

We hope Mark’s story will help raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage people to take action, speak to their GP about any concerns and look after their own health — as well as supporting those close to them who may be facing this illness.

This is an important episode, and we’re incredibly grateful to Mark for once again sharing his story so openly.

Five years ago today, the very first episode of Sausage On A Fork – The Grange Hill Podcast - with Ricky Simmonds, was published.

At the time, I had no previous podcasting experience and absolutely no idea how it would be received by listeners or by the former cast members I hoped would come on as guests. I certainly had no idea how many episodes I would eventually publish!

Well, here we are… five years, 119 episodes and 194,248 plays and downloads later! 🎙️

It has been absolutely tremendous to see and hear how much you all enjoy the podcast. I genuinely can’t thank you enough for your continued support, feedback and encouragement over the past five years.

Whether you’ve been a guest on the podcast, listened to just one episode, or have worked your way through all 119, thank you. ❤️

A huge thank you also to everyone who has shared episodes, recommended the podcast to friends, got in touch with memories of Grange Hill, or simply pressed play.

It’s been quite a journey so far – and I’ve loved every minute of it.
