Tower Hamlets School Clothing Grants Project launched to support more families

Mayor Lutfur Rahman formally launched the Tower Hamlets School Clothing Grants Project, with lead member, Councillor Faysal Ahmed, visiting Kobi Nazrul Primary School to meet pupils, parents and staff.

This year, the scheme has been expanded to support more families across the borough. Families with an annual household income of £60,000 or less may be eligible to apply for a School Clothing Grant.

The scheme now covers four year groups — Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 10 — allowing more families to receive support towards the cost of school clothing.

Eligible families are encouraged to check the criteria and submit their applications before the deadline.

Applications Education Maintenance Allowance & University Bursaries are now open! 💰

Eligible college and sixth form students can receive £600 through the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), while eligible university students can receive £1,500 through the University Bursary to help with the costs of education.

NEW CCTV RELEASED: Can you help identify two men who detectives want to speak to in connection with the r**e of a 13-year-old girl in Bethnal Green?

Young people can now study Arabic, Bangla, Mandarin or Somali at one of three Tower Hamlets Idea Stores.
