We often live as though tomorrow is promised — putting off the words we want to say, the people we want to love, the apologies we need to make, and the dreams we keep telling ourselves we’ll pursue “one day.”
But today is a reminder: we are still here. We are breathing. We have another chance.
So while we are among the living, let us truly live. Love your people. Call your family. Forgive where you can. Make peace where possible. Be kind. Appreciate the ordinary moments. Stop waiting for the perfect time to tell someone they matter.
One day, our own final call will come, and there will be nothing left to say or do. But today is not that day.
Today, we are still here — and that is a gift.
May my cousin Olisaemeka rest in peace, and may his passing remind all of us to make better use of the life we have been given.
