WALLACE & GROMIT HAVE LANDED IN BAAA-TTERSEA 🐑 There’s a brand-new reason to head to Battersea Power Station this weekend, pop-up shop Wallace & Gromit and Friends has officially opened!

The new store is Aardman’s first dedicated retail space outside Bristol, bringing Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Chicken Run and Morph together under one roof.

There’s plenty to explore inside, including a Wallace & Gromit Sweet Em-paw-rium, photo opportunities and an Aardman Craft Corner where you can have a go at modelling and drawing.

Plus, in a nod to their new London location, there’s a new Baaa-ttersea collection, alongside exclusive and specially sourced Aardman merchandise.

The pop-up is open in Boiler House North until 3 May 2027, with Christmas and Shaun the Sheep-themed celebrations planned throughout its run. We think it’s baaa-rilliant!

Jane Austen is coming to Battersea this month 🎭 Sense & Sensibility has just opened at Arches Lane Theatre at Battersea Power Station, with a brand-new adaptation of Austen’s classic.

The story follows sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, who are forced to leave their family home after their father dies and find themselves navigating love, heartbreak, family drama and plenty of gossip along the way.

The whole thing is brought to life by just five Thick As Thieves actors, who take on multiple characters throughout the show. It’s directed and adapted by Nicky Diss, whose previous production, Treasure Island, was also staged at Arches Lane earlier this year. It’s a hilarious and heartwarming adaptation - we went last night and absolutely loved it!

So, if you fancy swapping Netflix for a night of live theatre right on your doorstep, this is your sign to book your tickets. And, if you really love the story, you can catch the new film adaptation of Sense & Sensibility at the cinema next door too Olympic Studios

Sadly, this is also one of the final shows at Arches Lane Theatre, which is due to close at Battersea Power Station at the end of the month. The theatre has said that the closure follows the termination of its lease and is asking the public to support its final shows and emergency crowdfunding campaign as it looks towards what comes next. A special night of fashion is coming to Battersea Arts Centre next week 👗 Back Up Trust’s Front Row fashion show returns to the Grand Hall on Thursday 24 September, bringing together adaptive, accessible and sustainable fashion, all while raising money for a brilliant charity.

The catwalk will feature 10 models from the spinal cord injury community, including S*x Education actor George Robinson, with designers including Unhidden, Intotum, May Marigold, Recondition and Designer Exchange showcasing their work.

The money raised goes towards Back Up Trust, helping people and families affected by spinal cord injury through things like wheelchair skills training, activity courses and mentoring.

Football season has kicked off and one of the biggest games of the season is coming up just over the river from Battersea: Chelsea F.C. Women are taking on Arsenal Women at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 27 September.

If you’ve been watching the latest season of Ted Lasso, you’ll already know that women’s football is seriously worth getting behind. And honestly, there’s nothing quite like experiencing it in person.

Expect a brilliant atmosphere, a big London rivalry and a great excuse for a gals’ day out, a family afternoon or a Sunday date across the river, with some of the best women’s footballers in the world playing.

While we might not have our own team to get behind in Battersea, Stamford Bridge is just one stop from Clapham Junction to Imperial Wharf or a short trip over from Wandsworth or Battersea Bridge. Chelsea are hosting some huge games there this season, so it’s a great local option for a fun day out watching sport in SW London.
