They had the right to exist. And still, they had to fight for it.
There was a time when we believed human rights were universal. That progress only moved forward. That once rights were won, they couldn’t be taken away.
But then something shifted.
Now, across the US and beyond, trans and non-binary rights are under attack.
Laws are being rolled back.
Protections erased.
Lives put at risk - not because of facts, but because of fear.
Because a government that controls identity controls power.
A society that silences its most vulnerable is not free.
And a world that denies people their truth is not one built on justice.
The greatest movements in history weren’t won with silence.
They were won by people standing together.
Marsha P. Johnson and their community didn’t wait for permission.
She fought because no one else would.
Trans and non-binary people shouldn’t have to fight alone.
Because trans rights are human rights.
This isn’t about politics.
It’s about dignity.
It’s about safety.
It’s about equality.
And right now, it’s about what we choose to do next.
