Great to see our batteries out in use with No Drama on a recent commercial shoot in the Scottish Highlands!

The Swift and Bat were taken out on location to help keep the production moving, from recharging camera batteries and powering lighting to keeping drone and gimbal kit charged throughout the shoot.

The Bat proved particularly useful for the camera team, keeping V-lock and Ronin 2 batteries topped up continuously. According to the focus puller, they didn't need to recharge the Bat itself for two days!

A great example of how portable battery power can support crews working in remote locations, without needing to rely on mains power nearby.

News from ! NXTGENbps and SHAPE continue to strengthen their partnership with a major new stock commitment. 🌱

NXTGENbps has placed an order for 100 SHAPE Basecamp V2 units, known as the Emperor in the UK, Ireland and selected European markets, with deliveries starting from November 2027.

With UK and European stock holdings, NXTGENbps will be able to support the growing demand for sustainable battery power across many industries, including film and TV production, live events, military operations and power support during areas affected by weather events or outages.

The Emperor delivers 10kW output with 15kWh capacity, now supported by an advanced Power Usage App that provides greater visibility of energy use and helps productions better understand how battery power can support their sustainability goals.

Initially launched at 2024 and recognised with a New Product Award, the Emperor is now a key battery power solution for film productions looking for reliable, silent and cleaner power.

The world’s oceans have reached their highest recorded temperatures, according to new data from the Copernicus climate service.

Average sea surface temperatures outside the polar regions reached 21.1°C, surpassing the previous record set in 2024. While El Niño is adding further heat to the system, scientists say the record is part of a wider trend driven by human-caused climate change.

Warmer oceans can fuel more extreme weather, contribute to rising sea levels and put increasing pressure on marine ecosystems.

Record heat is putting some of the UK’s rarest species under increasing pressure.

Scientists are updating conservation guidance for endangered plants and insects as successive heatwaves change the habitats they depend on. The work focuses on six species across grasslands in Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire, including the large blue and Duke of Burgundy butterflies.
