As the creative force behind Strawbs, Dave forged a unique path that blended folk, rock and prog influences, and his distinctive songwriting helped to carve out a lasting legacy, with a catalogue that remains both pioneering and profoundly personal - we are honoured to have worked with Dave on some of that wonderful music.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, fellow band members, and his many fans.

Released on this day in 2019, Pere Ubu (Official)'s The Long Goodbye. A landmark moment in the band’s history, the album was shaped during a period of personal crisis for frontman David Thomas. Conceived while seriously ill and unsure if he’d ever make another album, the record is a striking fusion of analog synths, drum machines, melodeon and avant-garage attitude.

Described by theQuietus as “a unique work of archaic/futuristic sound” and “a reimagining of pop music in Pere Ubu’s own inimitable fashion,” it features contributions from longtime collaborators and new faces that resulted in a dense, intense, and deeply personal listening experience.
