Part 5 – The Redemption
The evening sky was painted in orange and gold when Precious arrived at the hospital.
Her heart beat faster with every step she took down the long corridor toward the ward where Femi worked.
She found him sitting outside, his white coat folded on the chair beside him, eyes weary but calm.
“Femi,” she said softly.
He looked up slowly, surprise flickering in his eyes. “Precious… you came.”
She took a deep breath. “I read your note. And I spoke to Ada.”
He nodded silently, unsure of what to expect.
“I realized something,” she continued. “I’ve spent so long blaming the past that I forgot the present is still mine to choose.”
Femi rose to his feet, his voice low. “And what do you choose?”
She stepped closer, her eyes glistening. “I choose peace. I choose healing. I choose you.”
For a moment, neither spoke — then Femi’s lips curved into that soft, disbelieving smile she’d missed so much.
He reached out gently, as if afraid she might disappear. “Are you sure?”
She smiled faintly through tears. “For the first time in my life, yes.”
He pulled her into his arms, and in that quiet hospital courtyard, surrounded by the scent of rain-soaked flowers, everything that once hurt began to fade.
Weeks later, at the same café where it all began, Precious, Femi, Emeka, and Ada found themselves in the same room again — but this time, it felt different.
Emeka walked up to her. “I just wanted to say… I’m sorry. For everything.”
She smiled, calm and genuine. “We all made mistakes, Emeka. But maybe they led us where we were meant to be.”
Ada squeezed her hand gently. “Thank you… for forgiving us.”
Precious looked at Femi, who sat by her side, eyes warm and certain.
“I didn’t forgive you for you,” she said with a soft smile. “I did it for me — so I could finally love again.”
Outside, the sky began to drizzle, just like that first day — but this time, the rain felt like renewal.
And as Femi leaned in to whisper, “Still no sugar?” she laughed softly.
“Still none. But you make it sweet anyway.”

Part 3 – The Secret Between Us
Precious stared at her phone, the words blurring from the tears she didn’t realize had fallen. Ask him about Ada.
It couldn’t be true. Femi — gentle, genuine Femi — couldn’t be part of that past.
But the mind is cruel when the heart is healing.
That evening, she called him. Her voice trembled slightly. “Can we talk? It’s important.”
When he arrived, she didn’t even wait for him to sit.
“Who is Ada to you?” she asked quietly.
Femi froze. The question hit him like lightning. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed deeply, guilt flickering in his eyes.
“I was hoping it would never come to this,” he said softly. “Ada is… my cousin.”
The words hung heavy in the air.
Precious’s breath caught. “Your cousin?”
“Yes,” Femi said. “I didn’t know until after I met you. She and I aren’t close — our families drifted apart years ago. But when I found out, I didn’t know how to tell you. I didn’t want it to ruin what we had.”
She stepped back, heart racing. “You should have told me, Femi! You knew what she did to me — what they both did!”
“You should have told me, Femi!” Precious’s voice cracked — a mix of hurt and disbelief. “You knew how much pain Ada caused me, and you hid it?”
Femi’s expression softened. “I didn’t hide it to protect her — I hid it to protect us. I wanted you to know me for who I am, not for who I’m related to.”
Precious turned away, her chest tightening. “You sound just like him,” she whispered. “Always with reasons, always with excuses.”
“Don’t compare me to Emeka,” he said firmly. “I would never do to you what he did.”
Silence lingered. Then, quietly, she said, “Maybe I just don’t know who to trust anymore.”
Femi stepped closer, but she didn’t move. “Then let me prove it,” he said softly. “I’m not your past, Precious. I want to be your peace.”
She looked at him — torn between the warmth she felt and the ache she feared.
“Then prove it,” she murmured, and walked away.

Part 2 – Shadows of Regret
Days turned into weeks after that rainy evening, but Emeka couldn’t shake the image of Precious from his mind. Her calmness had unsettled him — the way she spoke, the strength in her eyes, the new man holding her hand.
He told himself he was happy with Ada. But every time he looked at her, all he saw was what he had lost.
Ada, on the other hand, felt the shift. She noticed how his laughter faded whenever her phone buzzed. She noticed how his eyes wandered whenever they passed through Lekki — near that same café.
“Emeka,” she said one night, folding her arms. “You’ve been quiet lately. Is something wrong?”
He hesitated, then lied. “Just work stress.”
But Ada knew better. Deep inside, she feared the one thing she had stolen might never truly belong to her.
Meanwhile, Precious had started to breathe again. With Femi, life felt different — soft yet steady. They went on late evening walks, shared stories, and slowly, she began to let her guard down.
One evening, while sitting at the beach, she asked, “Do you ever get scared that something good will end before it begins?”
Femi looked at her thoughtfully. “Only when I start to care too much.”
“Then I guess you’re scared now,” she said quietly, staring at the waves.
He smiled. “Maybe. But this time, I’m not running.”
For the first time, Precious let herself laugh — freely, without guilt.
But peace rarely lasts long.
One afternoon, she received a message from an unknown number. It was a photo — her and Femi together at the café, hand in hand.
Then came the text:
“He’s not who you think he is.”
Her fingers trembled. Before she could reply, another message followed —
“Ask him about Ada.”
Her chest tightened. The air seemed to vanish around her.
Could it be…?
Was Femi somehow connected to Ada?
And just like that, the past she thought she buried began to rise again.

Part 1 – The Scent of Yesterday

The café was quiet except for the gentle rhythm of rain tapping against the glass. Precious sat alone, stirring her coffee long after it had gone cold. Her reflection in the window looked almost like a stranger — strong, composed, yet tired of pretending.

Two years had passed since the betrayal that shattered her: when Emeka, the man she had loved, had chosen her best friend Ada. It wasn’t just love she lost — it was trust, friendship, and the version of herself that believed in forever.

Then came Femi — charming, grounded, and gentle in a way that didn’t demand her to forget the past but to heal through it. A young doctor with a quiet strength, he saw through her guarded smiles.

When he entered the café that evening, soaked in rain, she knew fate was playing its hand again.

“Still without sugar?” he asked with that teasing calm that made her heartbeat trip.

“Yes,” she smiled faintly. “Still bitter, like memories.”

He laughed softly. “Then maybe it’s time to sweeten things up.”

Before she could respond, the door creaked open — and there they were. Emeka and Ada. Time seemed to choke the air between them.

Ada’s laughter stopped first. Emeka’s eyes found Precious, then dropped to where Femi’s hand now rested gently over hers.

“Precious,” Emeka said after a long pause, voice low, unreadable. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”

“Neither did I,” she said coolly. “But some places don’t belong to one person’s memories.”

Ada forced a smile, pretending nothing had changed. “It’s been long, Presh.”

“Yes,” Precious replied, her tone sharp but calm. “And maybe long enough to stop pretending everything’s fine.”

Femi squeezed her hand, silently telling her — it’s okay, you don’t owe them peace anymore.

When they left, the rain grew heavier, but inside, something lightened. For the first time, Precious didn’t feel broken. She felt free.

As they walked out of the café together, Femi looked at her and said,
“You know, Precious, healing isn’t forgetting the pain. It’s finding someone who sees beauty in your scars.”

She smiled faintly, the night reflecting in her eyes.
“Then maybe I’ve finally met him.”.......

Today, we celebrate Boyfriend Day—a day set aside not just to honor love, but to recognize the men who stand as pillars of strength, affection, and commitment in relationships. Too often, society overlooks the quiet ways men show love: the late-night check-ins, the sacrifices made silently, the pressure they bear to provide, protect, and still remain emotionally available.

A boyfriend is more than just a partner—he is a best friend, a listener, a motivator, and at times, even a protector. His role goes beyond romance; it’s about being a steady presence through both storms and sunshine. In relationships, men often carry an unspoken responsibility of leadership, yet true strength is not in control, but in balance—knowing when to stand firm and when to be gentle.

Appreciating men is more than saying “thank you”—it is seeing the value in their effort, respecting their sacrifices, and understanding that vulnerability does not make them less of a man, but more human. A real man is not measured by WEALTH, POWER, or APPEARANCE ALONE, but buy how he TREATS the people he loves, how he LIFTS others when they’re down, and how he stands with INTEGRITY even when no one is watching.

These may not be 100% accurate, but they can sometimes give an early clue before heading for a hospital check.

✨ 1. Missed Period & Body Changes
One of the earliest and most natural signs is a missed menstrual cycle. Along with this, you might notice breast tenderness, fatigue, nausea, or frequent urination.

Take a few tablespoons of sugar in a clean bowl and add your urine sample. If the sugar clumps together instead of dissolving, many believe it may indicate pregnancy.

✨ 3. The Salt Test
