KING DENNIS SAGA: WHEN LOYALTY, SUPPORT & SUCCESS COLLIDE
King Dennis's mother's defense in this ongoing saga is honestly disappointing and money greed. 😔
Yes, she gave birth to the young King, and naturally, every mother will want to stand beside her son. But the question many people are asking is: where was everyone when King Dennis was still an unknown artist moving around with nothing but his ABC freestyle, dreams and talent?
Lyee K Bility was there.
He didn't meet King Dennis at the top. He took him from the trenches, invested in him, managed him and helped push him toward the level where people around Liberia and beyond began recognizing his name.
Eddie King may have been criticized for saying Liberians are hungry and can sometimes be controlled through their stomachs, but whether people like the statement or not, there is a conversation behind it. In Liberia, we've seen people become popular simply because they have the resources to feed and support others.
So the question remains: if Dr.Vicky Gray had known King Dennis when he was still struggling in the trenches, would she have made the same investment that was made in him during those early days?
If the answer is yes, then perhaps the better thing would be to use that same influence and resources to lift other underground Liberian artists rather than becoming part of a situation that appears to be destroying relationships within the industry.
Anyone can become hurt after spending serious money, time and resources helping someone rise from obscurity to international recognition. That's why situations like this should be handled with maturity.
And Liberians shouldn't simply sit back and tell Lyee K Bility's to remain silent. Who does that? 🤔
Even if Lyee K Bility wasn't disclosing certain amounts or financial details to his artists, that alone shouldn't automatically justify allowing artists connected to him to walk away from his camp. If there were disagreements, the better approach would have been to sit everyone down, address the issues and find a solution not create another division.
At the end of the day, Lyee K Bility was the manager who helped build King Dennis, while Dr. Vicky Gray is now the person managing him. This should have been an opportunity for the old and new management to find common ground, not another reason for Liberian entertainment to divide itself.
People may not understand how painful these situations can become when you're the person who invested when nobody else believed.
You can replace a manager, but you can never rewrite the history of who was there when the journey began. 🇱🇷🎤🔥
