Have you ever seen ads come up on your social media that aren’t actually asking you to buy anything?

Well, this ad strategy isn’t a waste of money for businesses, it’s a smart move because it pushes brand awareness.

Ads that have been designed for brand awareness aim to get businesses seen and remembered, not to make quick sales or bring in quick leads. This is the first crucial step - skip it, and you risk selling to people who aren’t interested because they haven’t a clue who you are.

In this carousel, we’re breaking down:

1. What brand awareness is and why it’s important
2. Why some of the best-performing brands don’t lead with sales messages
3. How this stage plays a key role in long-term growth

So, if you’re looking into paid ads to make sales, then you’re going to need brand awareness behind you to back it.

Check it out and feel free to save it for when you’re mapping out your next campaign.

So, you’ve decided to run some paid ads for your business.

But how much should you really be spending on them each month?

This is one of the most common questions we get from business owners, and the truth is that it really does depend on your goals.

And while we don’t have a one-size fits all answer for you, we do have something simple you can takeaway and try:

➡ IF YOU'VE NEVER RUN ADS BEFORE...
If this space is completely new to you, then we personally recommend you starting with around £5-£15/day (around £150-£450/month) to gather data, see what resonates, and refine your messaging.

➡ IF YOU'RE AIMING TO GENERATE LEADS OR SALES...
Aim for £500-£1,500/month (depending on your industry, competition, and audience size) as this allows room for you to retarget, test, and scale.

➡ IF YOU'RE TRYING TO SCALE ABOVE YOUR ORGANIC REACH
If you know you’ve already got sales coming in organically and your messaging and product/service is working, then we would say you’re ready to scale up to £3K+ per month as this will get your ROI and allow you to grow further.

But when it comes to ads, it’s key to remember that it’s not about how much you spend, it’s about how smartly you spend it.

To get the maximum return, you need to test for the right creative, speak to the right people, and let the data guide you on your next steps.

Spending money on ads but getting nothing in return?

If this is you, chances are it's down to the ad, not the budget.

The truth is, most ads that end up underperforming are either missing the necessary visuals or simply just lacking clarity in the messaging.

So, what does make a great ad?

Today we've broken the answer down in this carousel post so that you can see clearly what your ad needs to bring in your desired results.

Feel free to save for later or send us a DM if you have any specific ad-related questions!

A lot of the time, we see people either rush their captions because they don't think they're that important, or hand them entirely over to Chat GPT.

But as tempting as that is, your caption really is your moment to try and get people to care about your content.

We see a lot of posts with nice visuals but a caption that:

1. Repeats what's already on the image
2. Says "link in bio" which gives people no reason to click
3. Or is full-blown AI (and you can tell which sparks no creativity from yourself)

So instead of overlooking your captions, use them as a chance to relate to people, explain, and sell without directly selling.

We've uploaded a graphic breaking down exactly how's the best way to write captions that receive the most engagement.

Swipe through, save it for later, and maybe next time... you'll see your posts perform better.

Trying to grow your business on social media but not sure whether you should be boosting your posts or building ad campaigns?

This is one of the biggest confusions we find business owners tend to face - and honestly, it makes sense.

On the surface, they both look similar, but they work in completely different ways.

To help clear things up, we’ve created this graphic where you’re able to clearly see the side-by-side comparison of what a boosted ad and an ad campaign looks like – and when you should choose them.

Not everyone is ready to run paid ads and that's okay.

We decided to put together this post because when we speak with business owners, we find that a lot of them feel pressured to start paid ads because they've heard how much they work. And yes, it is the next logical step in their growth, but they only really work when there are already a few key pieces in place.

As a business, we focus on helping other businesses get as much investment from their advertising as possible. This is why we're always transparent with what's needed because the last thing we want to see business owners do is throw money down the drain.

So, check out this guide and ask yourself:

1. Are people already showing interest in your product or service?
2. Do you really know who your ideal customer is and how they think?
3. Have you already made some sales, even just a few, without paid ads?
4. Do you have a realistic budget to test what works and then refine what doesn't?

If your answer to most of these is yes, you might be ready to start dipping your toe into the ad space.

If you're new to ads, you might not be familiar with the term "Ad Funnel" or why you'd need one.

An ad funnel is the journey you take people on from when they first discover your brand to eventually becoming a paying customer.

There's 3 parts:

Top of funnel (TOF): This is the first time people are seeing you. You’re not asking for anything yet. You’re just showing up with helpful, interesting content (like videos or stories) to get on their radar.

Middle of funnel (M*F): This is where people get curious. They’ve seen you around, and maybe clicked through to your website or liked a post. Here, you start to show them more such as testimonials, benefits, or behind-the-scenes to build trust.

Bottom of funnel (BOF): Now people are ready to be sold to because they’ve seen enough to feel confident, so this is where you offer your product, service or booking, clearly and simply.

Without a funnel, you’re basically jumping in and shouting “Buy now!” to people who’ve never heard of you and this is where ads fail miserably. But when you've got a funnel, you're guiding people in the right direction, and that’s what makes your ads actually work.

A lot of people associate paid ads with boosting.

We get it. It's quick and easy to do, and it feels like you're doing something.

But we wanted to show you from testing first hand the difference between a boosted post and a structured campaign in Ads Manager by using a real example from two ads we ran for the same brand, with the same budget.

The outcome? Completely different.

A lot of people think that a good ad is about how it looks, but when you're looking to get results, it comes down to more than just that.

To get a paid ad to become high-performing, you need:
1. A clear, irresistable message - something that's straight to the point and doesn't waffle on.
2. A relevant audience that will actually care to be targeted - don't just have it set to 'everyone'.
3. A well-thought out creative design that will make people glance twice.
4. A strong CTA that clearly shows people exactly what to do next.

When you get the above four working together seamlessly, your ad becomes more than just a post that pops up in front of people - it becomes a decision-maker.

So, if you're currently running ads and they haven't been performing as well as you had hoped, ask yourself:
1. Was the message clear?
2. Was the offer honestly desirable?
3. Was the ad going out to the right people?

We've been busy. But for good reason.

Behind the scenes these past few weeks, we've been working hard on something that's felt long overdue: a rebrand that actually feels like us!

From refining our messaging to building a new site that reflects the work we do, the results we get, and the brands we love working with, it's been a labour of passion.

And we're finally ready to share it!

Our new website is officially live!

It's cleaner, bolder, more refined - just like the direction we're heading in.

We're so proud of how far Adsocial Media has come, and this rebrand truly marks the beginning of our next chapter.

So, take a look, have a scroll, and let us know what you think: www.adsocialmedia.co.uk 🌐

You can have an exceptionally designed ad and still get no clicks, conversions, or results.

How?

Because it takes more than a nice design to get an ad to convert.

The key is to:

> Create a simple, straight-to-the-point offer.
> Copy that speaks directly to a specific target audience.
> A nice creative that stops people scrolling and builds upon your brand.
> A strategy that aligns with buying behaviour.

So reframe your focus from making your ads look good to making them work.

"We want to get in front of more people."

But more people aren't always the answer - the right people are.

You can pour lots of money into ads, boost posts, and do all the "right things", but if your message is too broad, you're not really targeting anyone.

This doesn't mean your product or service is wrong, it just means that you haven't clearly defined your audience, therefore your content isn't directly speaking to the people who would be interested.

The key is to slow down, clarify your message, and focus on one specific audience - that's when things (and people) start to click.

Remember:

You don't need to be everywhere.
You don't need to speak to everyone.
You just need to speak to someone - really well.
