Together, we’re launching the Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship – six Nigerian journalists will be selected to communicate climate and energy transition stories through inclusive, data-driven, and community-oriented narratives at a local or regional level.

Call for applications: Amazon Film Grant

Are you a filmmaker working on an environmental story in the Amazon?

One World Media, in partnership with Mongabay, is excited to announce a new grant opportunity for storytellers focused on the Amazon Basin.

We’re looking for character-driven stories that explore the conservation of the Amazon, as well as the threats facing its rainforest ecosystems and the communities who rely on them. We’re especially interested in projects offering rare or unexpected access. Stories may touch on wildlife, sustainable businesses, scientific research, the bioeconomy, agriculture, future food systems, or other innovative approaches to conservation.

Selected fellow will receive:
• Up to $5,000 reporting grant
• Your film hosted on Mongabay’s platform
• Executive Producer
• One-to-one mentoring
• Workshops and peer support as part of the OWM Fellowship 2025
• Membership to global alumni network

We’re looking for:
• Mid-career journalists and filmmakers
• Solutions-oriented
• Short films under 10 minutes

Projects can take place in any country within the Amazon Basin, including Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela, or French Guiana.

The Global Health Film Grant with the Pulitzer Center and Financial Times is now open!

After the success of our 2024 Climate and Labour Film Grant, we’re thrilled to be partnering again with Financial Times and Pulitzer Center to support one experienced filmmaker to tell a compelling global health story.

This year’s grant offers:
- Up to £20,000 in production funding
- A commission from the Financial Times + hosted on their platform
- A named executive for support
- Global promotion of your film
- Mentoring, workshops, peer and production support as part of the OWM Fellowship
- One World Media global alumni network membership

We’re looking for:
- Creative, newsworthy proposals
- Underreported global health stories
- Voices and perspectives rarely heard
- Stories with rare or unexpected access
