We closing our social media doors for a while at The Tine Project and pressing pause on all re-development on the app.

Redesigning and rebuilding a native app requires a lot money, time and commitment. There is no other way of sustaining this work other than asking you to contribute by paying a subscription fee for our service.

Now is absolutely the wrong time to ask freelancers to commit to using the app and we cannot take the risk of redeveloping The Time Project when people aren’t in a position to invest in it.

Work is so scarce at the moment, we know working conditions and rates are suffering but desperation and gratitude help people turn a blind eye to poor conditions - we get that!

You could argue that now is exactly the right to to kick off a new review app, so we can shine a light on exploitative work practice but then what? We can’t work with production companies who themselves are facing an uncertain future. We have a lot of experience in how the industry reacts when times are tough and right now, the focus is on surviving, with less emphasis’ on thriving.

The Time Project app will run as usual, our data will be shared with the DCMS later this year so please keep logging your hours with honesty.

We’ll be on hand to answer questions and give advice on tricky situations with rates and hours but we won’t have our amazing Social Media person working with us any longer.

We’ll be back in May 2024 with an update. Until then, we wish you all the best with all of your endeavours!

If we had a mic, we’d drop it here 🎤. Thanks everyone. Over and out, team TTP.

If a major UK broadcaster turned a blind eye to this.. how can we put a stop to it?

This is exactly why we need more TV and film workers to log their working hours on The Time Project. With your help, we can gather enough of the crucial data we need to STOP these production and broadcasting companies from exploiting their workers. 👊
