Campo Eliseo Rueda Verdejo 2018 - La Seca, Rueda ESP
“Nominator” - Xavier-Luc Linglin

The cultivar is “Verdejo” (not be confused with Verdehlo) and the owner of Campo Eliseo is Domaines Lurton from Bordeaux. The big guy - Francois Lurton himself - was even on site the day we filmed at the historic wine making facilty in the rustic village of La Seca. This wine is from the D.O. Rueda (recognised as the first appellation of origin in the autonomous region of Castilla y León)

This wine-making area is situated in the highest part of the northern meseta, right in the heart of the Duero high plateau. Our drone showcases this unique region and buzzes (very close actually!) to Oenologist, German Nieto Teio

Our camera details the smooth pebble clad alluvial, iron-rich soil, featuring very good drainage. Add in a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers, and these characteristics are ideal for growing native white varieties like Viura, Sauvignon Blanc and, in particular, the Verdejo variety.

From the Veneto region, in particular Soave, the wine style is Amarone!

The full name of the wine is “Amarone della Valpolicella’ and it's produced from a blend of grapes that are semi dried after harvest to concentrate flavour, and these cultivars include (by law!) Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and (less commonly these days) Molinara

“Nominator” Alessandro Rossi draws you into the magical world of this unique and seductive red and owners Michele Tessari, supported by “in house” Sommelier Francesco Ganci, add all the local knowledge.

The Ca’ Rugate family business has been handed down through generations of the Tessari family since the early 1900s. The estate was renamed Ca'Rugate in 1986, taking its name from the volcanic hills of the Valpolicella area where the vineyards form the “Punta 470” are located.

Stefano Sincini left a high powered executive career in fashion to enter the wine industry in Tuscany… He seems happy!

Giorgio Patrizi is head winemaker for Stefano .. He seem very happy too!

Watch to find how wine makes you happy - Particularly, in magical place like Montecucco Tuscany. The wineries companion hotel features an infinity pool, fine dining and the ambience that makes Tuscany a lifestyle and a province

Alessandro Rossi extols the virtues of the varietal, which is of course from the region always Sangiovese.

Standby for the “conviviality” factor to be turned up to “eleven”.
