Many congratulations to Tim Routledge, James Scott and Morgan Evans for their win at the Royal Television Society Awards - Best Lighting for Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Our congraduations also go to the other nominations - Nigel Catmur for The Coronation Concert and James Tinsley for The Traitors

We have heard the sad news that Lighting Director John Pomphrey has passed away. John was a much respected staff LD at BBC Manchester and amongst other shows lit Red Dwarf from the beginning.

Last night close to 150 guests, mostly students, were treated to an excellent presentation by Lighting Designer David Bishop who talked through how the magic is created on Strictly Come Dancing at Elstree Studios.
Our thanks go to the programmers and the crew who stayed on to host the meeting.

Technical information together with News of members and their activities, are published in the Society's magazine.
The Society has no union affiliations, and is therefore recognized as a valuable platform for open discussion and demonstration by Production, Management and Industry.
The Society is financed by member's subscriptions and commercial sponsorship.
The Society changed its name to The Society of Television Lighting and Design when it Incorporated the Society of TELEVISION LIGHTING DIRECTORS at its AGM in 2009.
