Last day of term… we did it! 💪
To every SEN parent who’s made it through another term of juggling, advocating, and adjusting — you’re incredible. 🧡

My regulation level is officially at 0% 😅
Who else is clinging to routine by a thread right now?

If you’re also pretending to be excited for half term but secretly panicking inside… same 😬

We kept Thea off school on her birthday.
Even though you can see balloons and presents, she’s absolutely petrified.
She has a real phobia of the Happy Birthday song and people wishing her happy birthday , so we did it her way yesterday.

Even when we walked round to visit her old nursery teacher, she was holding onto her t-shirt, the one with the number five on it ,scrunching it up and hiding it so no one could see.

Then this morning, she woke up full of fear.
Panicking that it was still her birthday…
Scared that everyone at school would wish her happy birthday, not understanding that she doesn’t like it.

People often don’t realise how deep that fear can go and joke about it or that not every child enjoys birthdays.
For some, it’s just too much.
So we take the pressure off, follow her lead, and celebrate in the calmest way we can 💛

What a beautiful day our little lady has had.
Gone to all her favourite places and visits from some of her favourite people.

We love you our little miracle girl xx
