এখন থেকে কর্মজীবী পরিবারগুলো ৯ মাস থেকে ৪ বছর বয়সী সন্তানের জন্য সপ্তাহে ৩০ ঘণ্টা বিনামূল্যের চাইল্ডকেয়ার সুবিধা পাবেন, তবে অবশ্যই তা নিবন্ধিত নার্সারি, প্লে-স্কিম বা স্কুল থেকে নিতে হবে।
কীভাবে পাওয়া যাবে এই সুবিধা?
আবেদন করা যাবে যখন আপনার সন্তান ২৩ সপ্তাহ বয়সী হবে।
অর্থায়ন শুরু হবে সেমিস্টারের শুরুতে, অর্থাৎ এখন আবেদন করলে এই টার্মে পাওয়া সম্ভব নয়, তবে জানুয়ারি বা এপ্রিলে শুরু হওয়া পরবর্তী টার্মের আগে আবেদন করা যাবে।
শিশু ৯ মাস বয়সে পৌঁছালেই বিনামূল্যের সময় কার্যকর হবে।
আজ থেকে (সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৫): ৯ মাস থেকে ৪ বছর বয়সী শিশুদের জন্য সপ্তাহে ৩০ ঘণ্টা ফ্রি চাইল্ডকেয়ার।
এর আগে শুধু ৩ থেকে ৪ বছরের শিশুদের জন্য সপ্তাহে ১৫ ঘণ্টা পর্যন্ত সুবিধা ছিল। সরকার জানিয়েছে, পূর্ণ ৩০ ঘণ্টা ব্যবহার করলে বছরে গড়ে £7,500 পর্যন্ত সাশ্রয় সম্ভব।
কারা যোগ্য হবেন?
অধিকাংশ অভিভাবক যোগ্য হবেন যদি:
সন্তান ৯ মাস থেকে ৪ বছর বয়সী হয়,
আপনি (এবং সঙ্গী থাকলে সেও) কর্মরত হন বা নতুন চাকরি শুরু করতে যাচ্ছেন,
অথবা আপনি অসুস্থতার ছুটি, মাতৃত্ব/পিতৃত্ব/দত্তক ছুটি বা কেয়ারার ছুটিতে থাকেন।
যদি সঙ্গী কাজ করেন, তবে আপনিও যোগ্য হতে পারেন, এমনকি আপনি Carer’s Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance ইত্যাদি ভাতা পেলে।
আয়ের শর্ত
আগামী তিন মাসে আপনাকে (বা আপনার সঙ্গীকে) ন্যূনতম নিচের পরিমাণ আয় করতে হবে:
২১ বছর বা তার বেশি বয়সে: £2,539.68 (সপ্তাহে £195.36)
১৮ থেকে ২০ বছর বয়সে: £2,080 (সপ্তাহে £160)
১৮ বছরের নিচে বা শিক্ষানবিশ হলে: £1,570.40 (সপ্তাহে £120.80)
এগুলো ১৬ ঘণ্টা সাপ্তাহিক ন্যূনতম মজুরি বা লিভিং ওয়েজের সমান।
30 hours free childcare per week for children – parents could save up to £7,500 a year
From now on, working families will be able to get 30 hours of free childcare per week for children aged 9 months to 4 years, but it must be taken from a registered nursery, play scheme, or school.
How can you get this benefit?
You can apply once your child is 23 weeks old.
Funding starts at the beginning of the school term. That means if you apply now, you won’t get it this term, but you can apply before the next term starts in January or April.
The free hours will take effect once your child reaches 9 months old.
The scheme is being rolled out in three stages:
April 2024: 15 hours free childcare for 2-year-olds.
September 2024: 15 hours free childcare for children aged 9 months to 3 years.
From today (September 2025): 30 hours free childcare per week for children aged 9 months to 4 years.
Previously, only children aged 3 to 4 were eligible for up to 15 hours per week. The government has said that using the full 30 hours could save families around £7,500 per year.
Who will be eligible?
Most parents will qualify if:
Your child is aged between 9 months and 4 years.
You (and your partner, if you have one) are working or about to start work.
Or you are on sick leave, maternity/paternity/adoption leave, or carer’s leave.
If your partner works, you may still qualify even if you receive benefits such as Carer’s Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, or Severe Disablement Allowance.
Income requirements
Over the next 3 months, you (or your partner) must earn at least:
Aged 21 or over: £2,539.68 (that’s £195.36 per week)
Aged 18–20: £2,080 (that’s £160 per week)
Under 18 or an apprentice: £1,570.40 (that’s £120.80 per week)
These thresholds are equivalent to 16 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage.
