Symposium, 11th October: Coaching Psychology in Education: Enhancing Students’ Learning, Creativity and Well-Being. Symposium Chair: Dr Qing Wang

The symposium forms part of the 14th International Congress of Coaching Psychology, 2024

Congress date: 7th to 11th October 2024, Virtual Conference.

Congress Theme: Advances in coaching psychology theory, research and practice from around the world.

This virtual Congress will be held over 5 days and offers Masterclasses and workshops from 7th to 10th October, and Keynotes and Invited Speaker Presentations on 11th October where the facilitators and speakers will bring us up-to-date with the theory, research and practice of coaching psychology. Throughout the day, the help desk and networking room will be open to meet up with colleagues and talk to some of the speakers after their presentations.

Members of the ISCP and the congress co-sponsors members have a 50% discount for the masterclasses and can attend Day 5, the 11th October for free (see below). This day coincides with the second International Coaching Psychology Day.

Do you need on-going supervision for your coaching practice? Are you working towards coach accreditation?

Our coaching supervision groups are held five times over a 10 to 12 month period. They are of 90 minutes duration. Each group has a maximum of six supervisees. Meetings are held over the Zoom Platform. The fee for the five meetings is £325, paid in advance.
Supervision dates for stream B2:

Monday 26th Feb 2024
Monday 15th April 2024

Time: 14.00pm -15.30pm (UK time) (NB First session to end at 15.45pm to allow for contracting administration at the start of the meeting.)

Just published: The Conservatoire Coach’s Casebook Notes: a thematic analysis, by Jo Hensel, Stephen Palmer and Karen Wise

Although coaching has been shown to promote positive change and growth in higher education in general, there is very little evidence of its use in specialist higher music education where there is a call for increased support for positive psychological functioning. The purpose of this paper is to present an account of the challenges facing music students in a leading UK conservatoire, describing the issues that came up in the course of 1:1 solution-focused coaching sessions with the researcher.

Supervision: Coaching Psychologists

Our supervision groups are held five times over a 12 month period. They are of 90 minutes duration. Each group has a maximum of six supervisees. These supervision groups will be of interest for psychologists in training who are working towards Chartered Coaching Psychologist or ISCP Accredited Coaching Psychologist status. In addition, coaching psychologists or psychologists who coach may also wish to attend them for on-going supervision. The fee for the five meetings is £325, paid in advance.
