Many people might not recognize you at this point, Tashi. You’ve always been quiet and humble, not one to show yourself on camera but I know how deeply you loved your wife.
I remember the first time she was admitted to the hospital. You never left her side in that room. We all thought she was anaemic, that she just needed more blood and rest to recover. You stayed by her until she was discharged. When your savings ran out, you had no choice but to return to the USA to work yet your heart remained with her.
Sadly, her condition didn’t get better; it grew worse. The moment you heard, you didn’t hesitate you took the next flight back to Kenya, desperate to be by her side again. But that same night you arrived home, Bety was rushed to KNH for admission. It was too late for you to reach her.
I still remember our phone call that night how Ski and Dan cried tears of joy just knowing you were home. My kids spoke with them too, and we could all feel the happiness and relief in their voices. For them, having you home meant everything.
You had planned to take your beloved wife with you to the USA for further treatment once she recovered and was discharged, but sadly, that day never came.
I can only imagine how hard it’s been for you and the children walking through the house and seeing her clothes, her things, her presence still everywhere. Yet, through all the pain, you’ve remained strong.
Tashi, I want to take this moment to honour you for being a devoted husband to my best friend Bety, and a loving, father to Bety's children. I know she she is proud of you.
Lets say something good for this man.
