The Risk.net commodities desk publishes news and analysis for participants in the energy and commodity derivatives markets. Its target audience includes personnel on bank commodity desks; traders at large commodity merchants, integrated oil and gas majors and utilities; and risk managers at energy companies across the spectrum of oil, refined products, natural gas and power. Its coverage of derivatives encompasses any futures, options, swaps, over-the-countere instruments or bespoke structured products that are tied to physical commodity prices, as well as environmental products such as carbon emissions credits. A key focus of the desk is regulation, particularly the impact of post-crisis financial regulation such as Dodd-Frank, Emir and Mifid II on the trading of energy and commodity derivatives.
