Lazarus X () is a filmmaker, writer, and cultural architect whose body of work redefines what independent Black cinema can be. Across two decades of filmmaking, he has cultivated a practice that merges art, autonomy, and ancestral memory — transforming personal narrative into collective healing. Through his twin platforms — ArtHouse Plus+ () and The Artist Temple ()— Lazarus has built a home for creators who see film not only as entertainment but as medicine. The Artist Temple extends that mission inward, offering a spiritual and philosophical framework for creative recovery — a multidisciplinary wellness initiative that teaches artists to sustain their creativity without losing themselves to it. To experience Lazarus X is to step inside an emotional architecture — part cinema, part confession, part resurrection. As a director, he approaches film like an act of design, arranging image, sound, and spirit into spaces of reflection and transformation. His mission is to bridge two worlds: the one where stories are told, and the one where storytellers heal. It’s been a little while.

Since the release of GUAP in 2025, things may have seemed quiet around here. But behind the scenes, we’ve been writing, filming, and preparing an entirely new slate of original series.

And now, we’re ready to start showing you what we’ve been working on.

This fall marks our return to regular production, with several new ArtHouse projects already filmed or currently in production, and new content rolling out throughout the fall and continuing into 2027.

First up: THE BLOODHOUND & THE BAIL-BOUND.

Created by award-winning filmmaker Lazarus X, THE BLOODHOUND & THE BAIL-BOUND is a strange, funny, sensual Southern neo-noir set in the backroads, swamps, bait shops, boat ramps, and stranger corners of Northeast Florida, following Holland and Austin as bail enforcement, old histories, desire, bad decisions, and increasingly dangerous circumstances pull them deeper into each other’s lives.

The series is being produced for the HERE TV network, but our ArtHouse subscribers will be coming along for the ride. We’ll be sharing clips, first looks, behind-the-scenes material, and other glimpses from BLOODHOUND right here on ArtHouse Streaming Plus+.

Today, we’re starting with the official first-look teaser.

This is our first official release since GUAP, and the beginning of a much larger wave of new work.
