A speedy, multi-agency rescue for local walker

Lymingtonโ€™s RNLI inshore Lifeboat the David Bradley launched on service at 2.39pm on Wednesday 23 October to assist a woman with a broken shoulder on the sea wall to the west of Lymington.

Our four-person volunteer lifeboat crew worked alongside the local Coastguard Rescue Team, Ambulance service and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to assess the casualtyโ€™s condition and evacuation options.

The HART team decided to evacuate the casualty by land. The lifeboat remained on stand-by in case of any complication, until the casualty had safely reached the waiting ambulance at 3.07pm.

Crew: Greg Pachany (Helm), Phil Baker, Ollie Janson, and Leon Hockley.

Two multi agency rescues within 24 hours for the Lymington RNLI.

On Sunday 18th August at 4.57pm the voluntary crew pagers sounded, to support a medical emergency. The Lymington lifeboat launched its inshore lifeboat B-882 David Bradley and proceeded to the position of the boat on the pontoon, with the Air Ambulance medic onboard as well.

Care was provided on the vessel and once the casualty was stable they were transferred back to the Harbour Masters pontoon and into the care of the ambulance crew.
Crew: James Lever, Ben Bradley-Watson, Gunnar Christensen.

On the following day, Monday 19th August at 12.09pm the crew were paged for a second time. Many of the voluntary crew were at work and rushed to the station to launch the lifeboat 9 minutes later. The lifeboat proceeded at speed towards Newtown Creek, on the Isle of Wight.

The lifeboat came alongside the vessel and after a quick assessment the casualty was taken onboard and transferred to the quay side at Newtown Creek, where the ambulance crew were waiting.

The lifeboat proceeded back to the Lymington where it was prepared ready for service again.

Crew: Greg Pachany, Dave Hall, Declan Oโ€™Riordan , Rob Merrix
