Sunday Musing.Ever since I’ve licensed the exploitation and distribution of my existing recordings on JAY Records to Cherry Red Records (UK) and MVD (USA), it was decided that JAY will refrain from releasing all future new recordings and re-pressings on CDs.Sadly, the current state of the Music Business dictates the necessity. However, there has been quite a number of collectors who’ve contacted me, recently, regarding the CD releases of JAY recordings.I am currently musing on whether to release a limited number of CDs, say between 200 and 500 depending on the titles to serve the CD Collectors. Needless to say, that it does not make sense economically to undertake such a task unless the selling price of the CDs are increased to justify the expenses of manufacturing and releasing them on CDs. Therefore, my musing is whether to release the new and re-pressing albums on CDs and perhaps sell them at £19.99 instead of £14.99 for single CDs. These limited released CDs will no doubt become rare collectors items soon after their releases.These are the forthcoming recordings to be under consideration. THE JERUSALEM SYNDROM Original Off Broadway Cast, ROMEO AND BERNEDETTE Original Off Broadway Cast, THE FANTASTICKS Original Studio Cast – Complete Recording, THE MUSIC MAN Original Studio Cast – Complete Recording and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Original Studio Cast – Complete Recording, The last three titles utilized the Original Stage Orchestrations.Please feel free to comment or enquire accordingly.
