Studio Lambert is delighted to announce a new first-look deal with award-winning writer, actor, and creator Daniel Lawrence Taylor, marking a significant new chapter in their ongoing creative collaboration.
Best known as the show runner behind the BBC’s highly acclaimed comedy-drama Boarders, Taylor is celebrated for his distinctive storytelling voice, razor-sharp wit, and commitment to authentic, underrepresented narratives. The new agreement gives Studio Lambert first-look rights to develop scripted projects with Taylor.
Taylor’s deal builds on the success of Boarders which is set to return for a third and final series in 2026 on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three.
A BAFTA-nominated creative force, Daniel Lawrence Taylor first rose to prominence with the cult hit Timewasters, which he created and starred in. Lauded for its bold blend of period comedy and contemporary commentary, Timewasters earned Taylor a nomination for Best Scripted Comedy at the 2018 BAFTAs and confirmed his status as one of the UK’s most original and exciting screenwriters.
Daniel Lawrence Taylor said: “Working on Boarders has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career. Collaborating with the team at Studio Lambert has been a true pleasure. It only makes sense to keep that momentum going. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and I can’t wait to push the boundaries even further and see what we cook up next.”
Madeleine Sinclair, Creative Director, Scripted, Studio Lambert, said: “Daniel is a truly singular talent. His writing crackles with energy and insight, humour and heart. At Studio Lambert, we strive to develop dramas that are bold, relatable, and impossible to ignore - and Daniel’s work embodies that ethos. He’s been a total joy to work with on Boarders and we’re thrilled to continue our creative journey with him. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
