Spencer Tunick brought his latest large-scale n**e action to Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria, on 26 July, assembling between 400 and 500 volunteers in the public square in front of the Catedral de Santa Ana for a dawn gathering titled Gran Spectrum. The installation, organised as part of the Culture and Business Pride 2026 festival, marked a departure from Tunick’s usual approach of photographing unadorned or monochromatically painted bodies. Jessica Morgan: Dia Art Foundation Director Becomes New Tate Head. Congratulations!!!
We have been eagerly awaiting this announcement since the Venice Biennale, but it has now been confirmed that Jessica Morgan, currently Director of Dia Art Foundation in New York, has been appointed the tenth Director of Tate, taking up the role on 1 January 2027. The appointment was announced by Tate Chairman Roland Rudd and the Board of Trustees, and approved by the outgoing Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Morgan succeeds Maria Balshaw CBE, with Karin Hindsbo, Deputy Director of Tate and Director of Tate Modern, serving as Interim Director until Morgan takes up the position.

The Photographer Annie Leibovitz has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in Manhattan federal court against Observer Media, owner of the Observer Newspaper, over the alleged unauthorised publication of her photograph of Justin and Hailey Bieber.
