Artists from across Europe have come together to call on EU policymakers to . They stand together in the belief that the AI Act must deliver on three essential principles:

1️⃣ Protect copyright & innovation
To be able to create, creators must have rights to keep control of how their work is used and be remunerated for such use.

2️⃣Ensure transparency
AI systems that use creative work must be transparent and comply with existing copyright rules.

3️⃣ Grow together
The EU should foster an environment where the creative market and AI can both thrive.

AI is filled with opportunities for creators and can enrich human artistry. Passed in early 2024, the AI Act has provided authors, performers and other rightsholders with tools that are essential to exercise and enforce their rights.

But our coalition is concerned that the implementation standard is being brought to a level so low that it would undermine the objectives of the AI Act, contravene EU law and ignore the intention of the EU legislator.

📣Europe’s creative community came together last night at the European Parliament to demand a faithful and effective implementation of the .

Prominent figures across the European creative sector, including authors, performers, publishers, producers, and cultural enterprises, shared a united message: AI must be built on transparency, consent, and respect for creators’ rights.

It also marked a key moment in the campaign, emphasising that AI and creativity can thrive together if the rules respect the people whose work powers these technologies.

🎤 The event welcomed Björn Ulvaeus – ABBA co-founder and President of CISAC, Olivier Nusse – CEO of Universal Music France, Anne-Sylvie Bameule – President of Actes Sud, Christian Van Thillo – Executive Chairman, DPG Media Nederland, Jesús Badenes Del Río – CEO of Planeta Libros, Carmen Paez Soria – Undersecretary of Culture at the Ministerio de Cultura & Kasia Lins and Amir.
