আওয়ামী লীগসহ ১১টি রাজনৈতিক দলের কার্যক্রম নিষিদ্ধ এবং ২০০৮, ২০১৪ ও ২০১৮ সালের জাতীয় নির্বাচন বাতিল চেয়ে করা দুটি রিট মামলা হঠাৎ করেই রিটকারীরা আদালত থেকে প্রত্যাহার করে নিয়েছেন। রিটকারীদের আইনজীবী আহসানুল করিম জানান, ছাত্র সংগঠনের সমন্বয়ক সারজিস আলম ও হাসনাত আব্দুল্লাহসহ তিনজন এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেন। তবে কেন তারা এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মামলা থেকে সরে দাঁড়ালেন, সে বিষয়ে কোনো সুস্পষ্ট ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া হয়নি।
