You can almost see France from here.

Slide 1. The Ramsgate Cliff lift. It's a pity this isn't in operation my knees would be very appreciative if it were.

Seemingly the £120K funding has been found to fix this. It was built in 1910 and closed sometime during Covid. Never reopened.

Slide 2. The Kent Steps.

The steps lead from Madeira Walk on the clifftop to Ramsgate Seafront. They bring you out at Peter's Chip shop.

The 800 tiles were installed in 2020 and were designed by local students who were inspired by Augustus Pugin.

Not going to lie, saying goodbye to 2XM is a tough one. I've loved it. I've loved chatting to all the incredibly talented people over the the past 14 years, first with Culture Cafe and then with The London Ear.

For the final show, I wanted to look forward. I was delighted to chat to sctor Chris Walley, who is starring in Orphans in the Jermyn Street Theatre in January.

Also thank you to Joe from for joining me to chat about the band's debut album 'Confessions Of a Pub Talker' and about the band's forthcoming tour across Ireland and the UK.

Thank you to each and every one of you who ever listened, who were a guest on the show,interacted with the show, sent me music, PRs who set up interviews. Appreciate it all.

One more time, with feeling. Tomorrow, 12 midday Episode 559 of The London Ear airs on RTE2XM. With 103 episodes of Culture Cafe before moving to London, that's 662 shows, lots of hours and a couple of hundred guests over 14 years.
