Young filmmakers taking part in Spring Term 2026 will discover how the best directors keep audiences gripped from the first frame to the final shot!
Raising The Stakes all about dramatic tension, how to build up suspense and deliver high-stakes storytelling on screen. Students will learn the secrets behind those edge-of-your-seat moments that make films unforgettable, mastering both the technical craft and narrative techniques that professional filmmakers use to make audiences care deeply about what happens next.
What happens when everything’s on the line? The hero races against time. The detective has one chance to crack the case. The countdown begins and there’s no turning back...

Lights, camera, climate action! We Are the World is Sparks Film School’s latest foray into filmmaking, set to take place this Autumn Term.
Young filmmakers aged between 5-18 have the chance to become action heroes, documentary detectives, and environmental champions all in one incredible term of filmmaking classes.
Young filmmakers unite to create powerful stories that inspire global change. One frame, one voice, one planet.
Students taking part through the autumn term will learn how to build compelling stories around environmental topics, whether through dramatic fiction or factual documentary approaches. We Are the World is an adventure-based exploration of real-world issues through the excitement of film production.

Our young filmmakers in Greece are in full swing at Sparks Film School Athens are creating their brand new film productions this summer.

Company Director Dan met with Konstantinos, international franchisee for Sparks Film School Athens to meet with his team and to see the workshops in action.

It was a delight to see such passionate young filmmakers working hard to tell their stories. And great to see and hear the Sparks workshop formula being delivered in Greece!

Franchisee Konstantinos has done a great job founding his film school and we’re excited to see what’s next for him!

Last week we ran workshop facilitation training days for our freelance team and new franchisee partners who are opening in Bath, Sevenoaks and Bristol.

It was great to spend creative time with the team exploring the Sparks Film School workshop techniques. We explored film facilitation skills, democratic filmmaking techniques and group management skills. All while creating some fun film productions.
