Dear Spotlight friends, fans, followers, and partners,
This week I am thrilled to announce the beginning of Spotlight V2, the next generation of our tireless journey to make mining awesome again.
Since 2019 our team have worked our hands to the bone to produce cutting edge videos, media, web tools and journalism for everybody in the industry. We have travelled to 4 continents to work with over 100 different mineral exploration companies and we have loved every second, but, there had to be a peak… In our current format, as a small team, we hit a stage where we couldn’t grow any further, we had no bandwidth for new projects and couldn’t earn enough with our available bandwidth to expand. We needed partners and collaborators to grow and really achieve scale.
Today this new chapter in our story begins, with a ‘changing of the guard’ at Spotlight HQ and the movement of management duties from my tiny home office in Austria, to the team at Critical Productions in London.
I would like to thank every single person who has invested in our picks, read one of our tweets, given us interviews, hired us for projects and supported us through thick and thin to get to where we are today. Monumental thanks go to every single member of the Spotlight team from our co-founders who worked for peanuts on our first project in snowy Finland, to our newest colleagues that helped us develop advanced social media and 3D geological modelling tools for clients, Spotlight would have been nothing without you all.
The same great team you’ve grown to love are still heading out on tour to produce our videos, still writing our content and still managing marketing for our super clients, but now with added ‘umph’ and the backing of senior partners in the UK.
I look forward to catching up with everybody for a beer in the near future to discuss my new exploration venture in Austria, and wish the whole team at Critical Productions every bit of success as the Spotlight brand continues to take over the mining world and keep things ‘real’.
