The UK’s favourite garage/pop/psych band: The Crystal Teardrop, return with a brand new single. It’s Too Late/I’m Rowed Out is released via Popclaw/Rise Above Records on Friday 10 April to coincide with the band’s upcoming tour dates supporting Love with Johnny Echols (main support for UK shows) and The Pandoras in April and May.

It’s Too Late is a new composition, reflecting The Crystal Teardrop’s garage rock roots, whilst ‘I’m Rowed Out’ is a cover of UK Freakbeat classic, originally recorded by The Eyes in 1965.

***NEW RISE ABOVE RELICS RELEASE - EVIL GRAVE FROM MALTA, 1970s***

Just when you thought you had heard it all.... Evil Grave were an exceptionally unique underground rock band from Malta that shook the islands with uncompromising attitude and dark imagery.

Heavily influenced by Black Sabbath and early progressive rock with a traditional Maltese twist, Death From Malta, gathers together all known existing material from the band.
Featuring 15-minute track: Machinery.

The band were discovered by Lee Dorrian when he was on vacation in Malta several years ago, after asking around about underground bands that may have existed on the islands during the late 60s/early 70s.

Heavy Halloween! To celebrate this ghoulish occasion, we are delighted to announce the release of DOOM METAL REVENGE: the forthcoming EP of heavyweight covers by Friends Of Hell. Their versions of Black Magic (Slayer) and Strike Of The Beast (Exodus) are so slow, they could barely fit on either side of a 7” disc. So we had to squeeze them on at 33rpm. As the old saying goes: ‘Slower is better’.

FOH are currently holed up in an unknown cave, laying down a series of skullcrushing anthems of the heaviest metal. The rotting fruits of which will be released from hell during the first half of 2026. Until then, we have this unholy offering, housed in poseur burning artwork. Wimps beware!

***NEW RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT***

Cathedral - Society's Pact with Satan. Previously unreleased 30-minute track is released on October 3rd.

'The term ‘back from the grave’ takes on a whole new meaning with the release of this (thought to be long lost) epic recording by the much-missed British Doom Metal lords: Cathedral.

'Society’s Pact With Satan' was the last ever recording made by the band, back back in 2012. It was recorded at the end of the sessions for their swan song album; 2013’s 'The Last Spire'.

But, for some reason, the 30-minute track was not mixed at the time, thus pretty much forgotten about by everyone involved, until very recently. Rediscovered by producer Jaime Gomez Arellano, whilst sorting through his old studio recordings, he excitedly alerted the band, saying that he had discovered a long-lost gem. Upon hearing it, the band members were convinced enough to agree that it should see a commercial release.

So, here we have it: the final sermon by Cathedral and what a way to go out. It’s an unapologetic, uncompromising exercise in macabre observations, musical eccentricity, brutal riffing and general arcane self-indulgence. There genuinely was/is no other band like Cathedral. '

Also released on October 3rd is a 20th anniversary edition of Cathedral's 2005 album: The Garden Of Unearthly Delights, in huge poster sleeve.

RIP Ozzy. What a sad day this is. Safe to say, Rise Above Records along with many of the bands on the label, would not have happened if it wasn’t for you and Sabbath. Such a huge influence you’ve had on us all. You will be greatly missed.
