“The Path He Walked”
In Memory and honour of Raila Amolo Odinga (1945–2025)
He walked where silence dared not go,
Through fire, through chains, through ebb and flow.
A son of Africa, bold and wise,
With truth ablaze behind his eyes.
He bore the weight of history’s cry,
Of dreams too vast to let them die.
Not for himself, nor fleeting fame—
But for our people, and their name.
He stood for justice, stood for peace,
For voices longing to be released.
He spoke for those who had no stage,
And turned their sorrow into rage.
Now he is gone—15th October’s tide—
But not the hope he left inside.
For every woman, child, and man
Still walks the path where he began.
We do not mourn with empty hands,
We rise, we build, we take our stands.
His legacy is stitched in Africa’s thread,
In every tear, in words we’ve said.
So let us walk, not just recall,
Let unity be his final call.
For honour lives where courage grows,
And in his path, the future flows.
Sometimes in silence we find peace.
