“The Social Model” is a brand-new feature film documentary about the pioneering British independent film company 104 Films.
104 Films were established in 2004 with the aim of creating a tectonic shift in the representation of disabled people both in front of and behind the camera.
They have produce critically acclaimed award winning films for an international audience such as the BAFTA winning I Am Breathing, BAFTA nominated S*x & Drugs & Rock & Roll and the multi award winning Special People which was hailed as a “Milestone in mainstream cinema” by the Guardian for its use of disabled cast.
Recent Films produced or co-produced by 104 films include the award-winning “Notes on Blindness” (2016), “Unrest” (2017) and “Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story” (2018), which will be showing at the London Film Festival this October.
