We don’t tend to jump on the trends for social causes and this simply isn’t a trend, so we’re breaking our own rules tonight. We are paying our tribute to Mitch Alexander - someone we had the pleasure to work with.

This news piece that has been circulating the industry for the past couple of days has left us with a huge hole in our hearts. Mitch has been instrumental in the success of our early work, particularly the success that has cemented Freshly Picked, Vol. 1’s appeal of organic house’s soulful tempo, right around the time when it was only becoming organic house in name.

We digged up the messages, and we found nothing but pure in depth passion for helping good music get heard. In 2023, we asked Mitch to help us again - despite the challenges we had of our own, Mitch was not phased and was ‘happy to hear that the label’s coming back’.

We dedicate the orchard’s return to Mitch Alexander who has changed the game of the entire electronic music industry. We’re grateful that we could have contributed at some point to what Mitch’s soul heard when we shared the orchard’s work with him.

No fruit emojis on this one. There’s nothing else to say other than rest in peace.

We head over to London to check-in with Elliot Moriarty - a producer, and also a DJ whose career has skyrocketed in recent years into something that is hard to measure.

A natural in music production, Els' as he's formidably known to friends, has released on best dance music institutions like Bedrock and UV, and played at venues like the London's The O2, the iconic Ministry of Sound, and Pikes and Pacha in Ibiza but to name a few. Elliot also runs his own imprint, L O S T.

Elliot kindly agreed to record a one-hour session for this week's installment of the Radio Podoba podcast, off the back of his "Downtown Tulum / Illusions" EP which is out now on the label. Enjoy, and as usual, let us know whether you're enjoying what you're hearing 🍒🥰

In other news for the orchard, the next EP is scheduled for July. It's a welcome return to the orchard's roots, with an announcement imminent. Also shortly, we will be teasing a new edition of a project that has cemented the orchard's reputation.

Welcome to May, the release month.

The move to space out our releases has been both deliberate and a happy accident. In sixteen days, French duo Missfeat will make their debut on the orchard. Two beautiful short previews are available, courtesy of Proton, in the link below.

We will be announcing our first EP in a while since our reboot, at the start of May. So keep locking in!

This coming Friday, we welcome two up and coming producers, that have been bubbling up, making huge waves on the organic house scene.

Jakhira and Fiordland are now close friends who have been brought together by expansive universe's chance. When we heard the demo for the first time, we knew straight away, that the orchard would not be complete without this record. It's one more fruit that grew into something else through sheer willpower of two producers when combined, produce a different vision.

"Triffid" is out March 28th, and we hope the duo will become an extended part of the family.
