FULL CANINE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY WALKTHROUGH VIDEO

I am always curious about what protocol others follow and how they think through their echocardiograms. In this video (link in comments section below), you can watch how I perform a typical examination in a dog, with a summary halfway and at the end of the study.

Most of the standard views are demonstrated in this video. Subcostal views are not included as they were not essential for this patient, and due to his laboured breathing at times, I did not want to extend the study unnecessarily. I have other videos on YouTube demonstrating this view and Doppler alignment from it.

Echo does not always give us all the answers straight away, and it is really a process of being a detective and ruling things in and out. That is what makes it so fun!
