Creating publicity for your book can be a great way to get your book seen and noticed, but how do you actually do it? Do you need a PR specialist or are there things you can do yourself? How do you get clear on the angles that will grab a journalist’s or event organiser’s interest and how can you make your book stand out? Where should you focus your time and energies and what could you be doing, and what would you leave with your publisher if you have one?

In our online event with Truda Spruyt, publishing and arts communications specialist, we will delve into all aspects of book PR to answer all your questions and to give you lots of ideas of things you can do to promote your book. Truda will be in conversation with Kelly Weekes and there will be plenty of time in the session to answer your questions. We look forward to seeing you there.

About our guest: Truda Spruyt

Truda founded Collective Wisdom, a new kind of PR and marketing agency for culture and the creative industries, in September 2024. She has been working in publishing and the arts for over 30 years. She specialises in devising and delivering integrated communications strategies, leading teams and providing senior strategic consultancy. She worked for over 20 years on the Booker Prizes, built the profile of the Baillie Gifford Prize and has promoted literary festivals across the UK. She is a trustee of Theatres Trust, Honorary Secretary of the Book Society, an Ambassador of the Blake Cottage Trust and on the Arts Board of the Royal Society of Arts. Current clients include Namita Gokhale (Jaipur Literature Festival co-director), historian Joshua Levine, the Orwell Prizes and the Barbican Centre.
