Wesley Gets Character Development

TNG Season 2 Episode 15: Pen Pals.

This episode does well in allowing the character of Wesley Crusher
to develop. The crew focus on his growth in his career as well as into adulthood. This makes a welcome change to the earlier Wesley character moments where he has the answers before any experienced and seasoned officer and is often ‘saving the day’.

A Different Picard

TNG Season 2 Episode 14: The Icarus Factor.

Actor, Mitchell Ryan, who plays Kyle Riker, was a top contender to play the role of Captain Picard. Deanna Troi’s office is first seen in this episode.

Wesley gets overly excited when his console starts to overload. I am sure the person next to him can see and hear it!
Yar has a close call in the transporter room and this is not the first time. Last time was in the prior episode “Heart of Glory”. She is security, not the transporter chief. During these most crucial times. perhaps the chief was conveniently on a break. It’s too bad, as she may not have died if she was the transporter chief instead of chief of security.
Two actors from “Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan”, guest star in this episode. T’Jon, played by Merritt Butrick, is an Ornaran dependent upon a drug called Felicium provided by the Brekkians. he was kirk’s son, David, first appeared in star trek 2. Sobi, played by Judson Scott, is one of the Brekkians that supply the Felicium. he portrays Joachim, Khan’s genetically engineered follower in Star Trek 2.
This was the last episode Denise Crosby portrayed the character, Natasha Yar. 42 minutes and 12 seconds into the episode, she is seen waving in the background. Was this left in intentionally? The following episode, “Skin of Evil”, was produced prior to this episode.

What You Missed Watching..."When The Bough Breaks"

Here are my observations concerning Season 1, Episode 17 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "Too Short a Season".

The Aldeans start kidnapping a selection of children from the enterprise. Alexandra’s mother has an odd reaction by calling out her daughter’s name twice and staring at the empty space where she was beamed away.
Wesley scans the Aldean lady in the least tactful way. How did she not see what he was doing?
Jerry Hardin portrays Radue; the leader of the Aldeans, and responsible for kidnapping the children from the enterprise. jerry also later played Samuel Clemens in the 2 part TNG episode, “time’s arrow”. he later appeared in star trek voyager as Neria in season 1 episode, “Emanations”.
The Aldean's technology is impressive. They can cloak their own planet; they flung the Enterprise thousands of light years away. Why did the federation not ask for their help when the Borg attacked? they could have dealt with them single handedly.

Pulaski Did Know Kyle Riker

Pulaski states the subject of Riker’s father, Kyle Riker, never came up in conversation, however, in the prior episode, “Time Squared”, Riker mentioned his dad left the chore of cooking to him.

O'Brien Left with a Dead Captain Picard

TNG Season 2 Episode 13: Time Squared.

Picard shoots himself. Pulaski and O’Brien arrive together at the shuttlebay. Pulaski scans the body and walks off, leaving O’Brien with the dead Picard. Does he know that is a duplicate of Picard keeping in mind this is the first time he has seen the captain.
