The indie world was more shocked to see John Maus in Washington the day Trump supporters stormed the Capitol than his old friend Ariel Pink. He’s since experienced person tragedy and been more direct in his rejection of Trumpism. Or at least as direct as John Maus is likely to be. It’s still hard to know exactly what to believe as he releases his first album since.
