Discover the details in our latest release with Gavin Turk, ‘Still Life with Banana (Vivid Orange, Ultraviolet & Warm Grey)’ 🔎

Turk describes, “The banana, singled out and placed in a studio scene, evokes a reclining figure. There is something of a surreal effect – it’s a moment of ripeness, and the yellow colour of the banana generates Pop relationships with the different backgrounds.”

Bradley Theodore with his ‘Unique Eternal Queen (Cardinal Red)’ edition on our stand at Art Miami last year 🧑‍🎨

Set against a vibrant cardinal red background, Bradley Theodore’s ‘Unique Eternal Queen’ encapsulates the artist’s complex, textured painting style by overlaying gestural acrylic strokes on his ‘Eternal Queen’ edition. Almost a wholly hand-painted surface, bursts of colour communicate with one another to enhance the multiple layers of the relief printing process. ‘Unique Eternal Queen’ is part of an ongoing series by the artist, depicting royalty from both past and present.

Marc Quinn signing his ‘Ice Age’ and ‘Raw Earth’ editions 🌎

Working as both geographic and corporeal topographies, ‘Raw Earth’ and ‘Ice Age’ accentuate the subtle gradations of the iris as well as the curvatures of the screenprinted map of the Atlantic. In ‘Raw Earth’, the overlaid map is made from silver leaf, creating an etched texture reminiscent of geographic terrain. ‘Ice Age’ presents a visual index of identity in a digital age, adorned with soft white diamond dust, capturing the shimmers of the retina and contrasting with the pitch black pupil at the centre.

Discover the details in Boo Saville’s ‘One Thing After Another (Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night)’ 🔎

Saville describes, “I am interested in the threshold between the experienced and the represented world in our minds and how colour can be an access point for this. I have also been experimenting with frames in my work for a while now. Rather than a presentation tool, I view them as an integral part of the work. The frames in ‘One Thing After Another’ provide a border but also the blurring of roles; different fields of surface suggestive of something that happened or is about to happen. Like looking at something through a window.”

Watch the detailed making-of Harland Miller’s ‘OUI’ (2023) 🎨

‘OUI’ has been created through multiple layers of woodcut printing, with hand finishing by the print studio. Miller describes: “I’ve ended up making a series of Oui paintings. The word itself is pleasing and also composed of a series of pleasing letter forms all of which have an equal part to play in the overall pronunciation of the word.”

Harland Miller’s latest museum show, ‘Harland Miller: ###’, is now open at York Art Gallery, featuring a selection of paintings and works on paper from the artist’s ‘Letter Paintings’ series. The exhibition is open until 31 August 2025.

Details from our latest release with Chris Levine, ‘Light is Love’ 💕

A series of three colour etchings, ‘Light is Love’ is Manifold Editions’ first collaboration with renowned British light artist Chris Levine. The series stems from Levine’s immersive light works, in particular his ‘blipverts’: sculptural light installations fitted with LED bulbs that project a visual echo of the image in the viewer’s peripheral vision as they look back and forth. The editions are printed through layering multiple etching plates, hand coloured using densely pigmented inks, in a palette of vibrant pinks, yellows, purples and blues.

‘Light is Love’ is now available to buy online via manifoldeditions.com. Follow the link to see more.

Discover our botanical editions by Marc Quinn, whose work is featured in the newly extended exhibition ‘Flowers – Fauna in Contemporary Art and Culture’ at Saatchi Gallery, London 🌺

Marc Quinn is renowned for his ‘Flower’ series of paintings, prints and sculptures. In these works Quinn forms an imaginary landscape consisting of a wide range of flora, from different continents, to create a striking installation of blooms that would never in fact flower at the same time. Intentionally accentuating the voluptuous, sensual quality of the plants and flowers, Quinn captures these species at the peak of their perfection, rescuing them from natural decay to create a moment of timeless beauty.

Published in 2013, these three screenprints use bold tonal palettes and linear shapes to play with and disrupt our perspective of proportion and scale. Morrison says, “I’m interested in the cognitive landscape, the terrain that one sees, somewhere behind the eyes”.

It was great to see Gavin Turk on our stand at this year’s London Original Print Fair to celebrate the launch of ‘Still Life with Banana (Vivid Orange, Ultraviolet & Warm Grey)’ 🍌

‘Still Life with Banana’ is Gavin Turk’s latest collaboration with Manifold, a continuation of the artist’s playful homage to the history of the banana in art, referencing artists as diverse as Gauguin, de Chirico, Thiebaud, Warhol and Cattelan. Turk describes how “The banana, singled out and placed in a studio scene, evokes a reclining figure. There is something of a surreal effect – it’s a moment of ripeness, and the yellow colour of the banana generates Pop relationships with the different backgrounds.”
