JOE CAROFF (1921–2025)

We remember and honor Joe Caroff, the quietly brilliant graphic designer whose work etched its way into cinematic history. Best known for imagining the iconic James Bond “007” logo, with the number 7 cleverly transformed into a pistol.

Beyond Bond, his artistry graced the posters of beloved classics: West Side Story, Cabaret, Last Tango in Paris, Manhattan, A Hard Day’s Night, and many more.

Caroff passed away at his Manhattan home on August 17, 2025, just one day before his 104th birthday, leaving behind a legacy defined by creativity, subtle genius, and a lifetime of “effervescence” in design.

We pay tribute to a true design icon whose understated contributions continue to speak volumes.

Now, that spirit takes flight again; not as an airline, but as an immersive experience - a celebration of timeless style, storied history, and the enduring allure of the world’s most iconic wings.
