An emergency alert is set to be sent to 87 million mobile phones across Britain. Smartphones will vibrate and sound a 10-second siren even if they are on silent as the government tests its emergency alert system.

During the drill, the second only of its kind, a message will also appear on phone screens, making it clear the alert is only a test. The test is due to happen at 3pm on Sunday, September 7. The system was first tested in April 2023, but the government said some users reported that their phones did not sound at all, with the problem traced back to specific networks.

According to Reuters news agency, officials from ATC, air traffic control, at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad said the plane took off at 1:39pm.
A few moments after taking off, media reported that Captain Sabharwal made a mayday call to ATC.

According to a uk newspaper the pilot said: “Mayday…no thrust, losing power, unable to lift.”
And when ATC tried to respond, the plane went silent.
